The shooting left Julius Randolph "Juice" Sampson Jr. dead, and Robert Anthony Granato, 23, facing a first-degree murder charge Sampson was shot to death outside BJâs Brewhouse and Restaurant on Aug. 6, 2019. Race has been at the center of the case, with some believing that Robert Anthony Granato, 24, who is white, shot Sampson, a married father of three who worked as a barber at Hanes Mall, because Sampson was Black. After an argument between the two men inside BJ's over how Granato was treating female staffers, the two men exchanged words outside. Sampson used the N-word and then Granato hurled the word back.
