Police arrested five people and impounded vehicles. But it hasnt slowed side show activity. More is expected this weekend. Oakland Police Captain Randall Wingate says the street stunts stretch the department thin. If youre a victim of a minor crime, youll have to wait, it will backlog us for an entire day. This video shows the big cat being tranquilized by game wardens. Abc 7 news saw him being carried away. Police cleared the area until the wardens moved in. Neighbors were shocked to see a Mountain Lion so close to home. This man is keeping a close eye on his dog. Im not going to let him out. He looks like a little bunny, hes a pomeranian. I cant just stand and watch as someone else is doing it. Reporter she watched the north bay fires unfold on tv and knew she wanted to help. Her dad owns royal palace banquet hall in fremont. He connected a few people, those people connected more people. It just grew. Reporter hundreds of people came. Speakers included spiritual leaders and United States congress men. Every time these disasters have happened, ive seen our Community Come together. Reporter the community here is muslim. As muslims we believe god didnt say to love your muslim neighbor. God said love your neighbor. Over 40 lives have been lost and thousands of homes. So the smallest thing we can do to help our fellow neighbors is an honor. Reporter the money raised will go to Islamic Relief usa. We focus on the people either who were not insured or the people who did not for whatever reason qualify for fema support. Reporter organizers hope this event raises at least 100,000 for fire victims. In fremont, Katie Marzullo, abc 7 news. Metallica, dead and company and several other bay area bands helped raise 17 million thursday night for fire victims. The money will go to the Tipping Point Emergency Relief Fund which helps low income communities affected by the fires. The relief fund has raised a total of 23 million. Happening today, Sonoma County is hosting a resource fair to connect fire victims with government debris removal programs. Todays fair is at the Utilities Field Office in santa rosa from 10 00 until noon. If you miss it, dont worry, theres another fair tomorrow at the santa rosa veteransand mond. Caltrans will bring down the old eastern span of the bay bridge. This is caltrans video from two weeks ago when three piers were imploded. Traffic will be briefly stopped today. No cars will be allowed on the bay bridge for about 30 minutes during the blasting period, which is expected to take place sometime between 6 00 and 8 00 this morning. Reporter sean stevens still gets tears in his eyes thinking about his years in afghanistan with the national guard. War is not videogames. It is forever. The scars can be physical and they can be mental. Reporter his experiences forever changed his life and now will forever live on in the library of congress. Stevens is one of 200 bay area veterans who have been interviewed for an oral history project called honoring our marin veterans. The people asking the questions, high schoolers. We ask a bunch of questions, and those interviews with paperwork and logs of the audio will go to the library of congress for preservation of their stories. Reporter the mission is to interview all living bay area vets so their stories can be shared with future generations. Its really about day to day and the everyday people that have been fighting to preserve the liberty and the freedom that we have as a country. It taught me how great it is to live in the United States by looking across that border and seeing what those people are going through. Other bay area cities holding parades today include petaluma, antioch and marin city. The starting locations and start times for those parades are on your screen. Abc 7 news was on seminary drive in mill valley where firefighters were rolling out donated bikes, both new and used, onto trucks. The bikes will be handed out to adults and children with addresses listed as destroyed on the official damage inspection report from cal fire. The need for helping people that lost everything, its the least we can do. We just felt like after going up there and seeing it, we wanted to do something. And this a way that everyone can give back. The bikes will be delivered today between 10 00 a. M. And 2 00 p. M. At the Sonoma County Sheriffs Office in santa rosa. Happening today, the cub scouts and boy scouts are donating food to the San Francisco marin food bank. Last year they donated more than 30,000 pounds of food. The annual scouting for Food Campaign is the largest food drive benefiting the food bank each year. The food bank says it will be a very busy weekend with thanksgiving coming up in less than two weeks. We have fog around the bay primarily up in the north bay around napa, quarter mile visibility there in dense fog, as well as on petaluma on the coast.
