Reporter yeah, weve been here all day keeping an eye on things. Relief among the passengers who have gotten off the ship but there are hundreds, thousands still onboard the ship. Theyre getting increasingly frustrated being stuck on board. Theyre worried about pets at home, jobs, businesses, and they really dont have any idea where theyre going yet. Now we are completely in the dark. They havent told us when were getting off the ship. They havent told us where were going. Reporter Carolyn Wright from santa fe, new mexico, is at her breaking point and she said shes worried about the disembarkation process, sending this photo of the herding of passengers not being kept six feet apart as recommended. People have taken control of our lives, are treating us like numbers. Reporter in this sweeping drone 7 shot of the grand princess, you can see the tents and vehicles are still there dockside as people continue to exit the ship. Passengers were disembarked starting at 8 00 a. M. With busloads of passengers going to Travis Air Force base where one santa rosa woman and her family described the accommodations as a suite or apartment where lunch and chilled Water Bottles were waiting for them. She said they were told to not take pictures or video. This video is from the u. S. Department of defense. California Governor Newsom said 269 passengers were offloaded today by early afternoon. Most were headed for travis with 98 going to Lackland Air Force base in texas. Over 500 exited the ship yesterday, so thousands more are still onboard. A charter plane took many to canada yesterday. Today some passengers from Great Britain were set to jet home. The ship docked at noon on monday after navigating into San Francisco bay, passing under the golden gate and b bridges. This is kind of an unprecedented sight, this giant cruise ship sitting at the port of oakland. Hard to predict where things go from here. Fewer passengers offloaded, more on the ship. Officials here on the ground seem to believe were going to be here tomorrow and perhaps even into thursday or later this week in order to get everyone off the ship. Abc 7 News Reporter luz pena has been speaking with passengers who are still on the ship and those who have started their quarantine period. Give us some of their stories. Reporter several passengers told me that waiting has been the hardest part of this process. People are growing frustrated. We heard from a passenger who said people are fed up and even calling 911 to get them off the ship. Patience is running out. We have received information from port of oakland Emergency Response authorities that guests have been calling emergency numbers from cell phones. Please do not do this. Reporter the captain of the grand princess cruise ship asking passengers to not call 911. Many are growing sick and tired of waiting and calling for help. Everybody on the ship is just kind of reaching the end of their patience. Reporter there are still thousands on the ship waiting for their number to be called out. Among them, maureen and jim gates. The captain says hes doing his best to get us off of the ship. Reporter on the other side of the ship, lori and john miller. At first the view was nice. This is the view. Reporter now its old. They have a lot to look forward to after this is over. Onboard the ship they found out their daughter is having a boy. We got luggage tags, which means were probably getting off. Hector ramirez is not only waiting for the twoweek period to ending but simply to see a doctor. He found blood in his urine several days ago. Call them again and see if they can give me an ultrasound to find out what is the problem. But one of the doctors says it mostly looks like you have a kidney stone. Reporter many raising concerns about the quarantine process and how effective these methods are. Why were we contained in our rooms together in the ship if theyre going to have us intermingle with each other again. Passengers who leave the ship are either taken by ambulance to the hospital, driven to Oakland International airport or put on a bus to Travis Air Force base. Travis is one of four quarantine locations for the passengers in the country. Californians are either going to travis or air station miramar in san diego.
