While weve seen improvements for the bay and the coast and the south bay that will continue even into the weekend as we track a couple storm systems set to move in. We can see them over the pacific. It may draw in the remnants of a weakening tropical system and enhance our chance of getting some rain but it all depends on the exact path of that rain if it moves further to the north. We may miss out on that and thats something well be watching. One of the more robust computer models a quarter to possibly close to a half inch of rain which would be much needed. San francisco held the line a month longer than required but may be ready to move forward. Here is what has to happen. New cases have to hold steady as fewer than four infections per 100,000 people and the Positivity Rate<\/a> has to remain lower than 5 . Restaurants could serve 25 of their indoor capacity or 100 people, whichever is lower. The county could also allow outdoor gatherings of up to 200 people. Restaurants say theyre ready even if diners say theyre not so sure yet. It means a lot for us. That means we get to bring back more Staff Members<\/a> to protect them even though theyre taking precautions inside. It feels more safe for me to be outside. Its back to the classroom for kids in the east bay. According to berkeley, the city has planned to reopen schools by next week. The new Safety Measures<\/a> must be in place to keep students and teachers safe. To reopen berkeley schools will require face coverings, social distancing, limiting class sizes, testing staff once a month and increased cleaning in the classroom. For more than a week folks in the north bay have dealt with uncertainty of the glass fire. Thousands of homes and businesses were destroyed. It appears the firefight is turning the course. You can see and smell the smoke and can see that orange glow from the hills. Today it appears this town may be turning a corner on the firefight. Some of the businesses here have reopened including silverado farm. One of the first to reopen and as those folks do return things will look a little different. A lot of devastation left. At least eight wineries here were destroyed or sustained significant damage including the famed castle but that rain, two pockets expected later this week, could aid in the containment of the fire which at last check with cal fire is at more than 40 containment which is good news. For the folks here in napa its a bit of relief following more than a week of uncertainty. Being back in town is really great, just having a solid place to stay is definitely a blessing. Reporter good news for that individual there. Folks do make their way home, be aware of your surroundings, particularly the trees with the fires burning for days. This woman was arrested saturday. Police say back in august she vandalized san jose mayor sam liccardo s home during a night of jacob blake protests. Investigators are also looking for another suspect this woman. In august, protesters marched to liccardo s home and spray painted his front door with profanities. Liccardo was not home at the time. Also arrested these two suspects. They are accused of defacing of the Thomas Fallon<\/a> monument in downtown san jose last month. Now to making it in the may it appears the moratorium on evictions in San Francisco<\/a> could be extended well into the first part of 2021. San Francisco Examiner<\/a> is reporting this morning, the current moratorium is set to expire at the end of next month, but new legislation would extend that until march. The board of supervisors are expected to take that on soon. Under the moratorium, renters impacted by the pandemic cannot be forced out of their homes. New this morning. San francisco is cracking down on dangerous driving by city leaders. The examiner reports. Supervisors have a new proposal to track unnecessary car rentals by city departments.
