And mainly thats the usual spots that heat up a little bit more than the coastline. So were going to have a temperatures peaking today in the low 80s. Not too bad. But then tomorrow the winds will start to pick up and then it gets quite a bit cooler as we lead into our Holiday Weekend. Take a look at our highs for today and what our normal High Temperature is for this date. In santa rosa, were looking at a high of 84. Now. Usually were seeing a high of 76. And in concord 86 degrees there. When were used to seeing upper 70s. So once again it is a little bit above average but not setting any records here. San jose looking at a high today of 82 degrees. Well talk about the rest of the week. Coming up, mike, youre tracking the wait at the bay bridge yeah, things kicked in pretty quickly on this tuesday. I thought maybe a heavier volume was in store at the bay bridge, but were sorted out to about what wed expect now on your typical. So this is a smooth flow of traffic, a steady build there and things actually Getting Better for speeds heading into San Francisco. I think they might have slowed those metering lights down a little bit more slowing on your typical builds. Were looking at no major problems as the first burst of traffic clears from san jose checking out a crash on highway 17, and ill have more detail coming up. But i do want to make sure you know about this closure here on fremont boulevard between thornton and peralta. Your access to and from 880 are Central Avenue and thornton. This is coming out of fremont as mike was just telling you, where police are investigating that fiery crash. This is leaving fremont boulevard close near thornton. Now, it happened a little after midnight. This is when a car struck a tree before bursting into flames. As you see there. Want to give you a live look right now . This is the scene. Police. So far not confirming if anyone was trapped in that car, despite witness accounts suggesting otherwise. Now we do know that someone was pulled from that car alive. Its not clear how that person is doing this morning. Now, fremont boulevard remains closed at this hour. A bob redell is there at the scene. Well, this morning some unhoused people in the north bay are turning to a judge for protection for what they call harassment. Theyre accusing a business of trying to drive them away by playing music. Today in the bay kris sanchez joins us now from our newsroom with a tactic thats really hitting a sour note here. Chris. Oh, so, laura, this is an encampment of unhoused people who are living behind an east bay tire shop thats been in san rafael for years now. Things have been mostly harmonious until about four days ago when the music started. Take a listen. Now, one of the people who lives in the encampment near lincoln avenue and Second Street says the music started about five days ago. It is a loop of music that blares all night long. The folks at east bay tire dont want to talk to us at this point about the overnight music, but the president of the Marin Homeless Union says this escalation is about forcing the unhoused people to pack up and move. I think right now, the Property Owner is trying to facilitate is being emboldened by the city of san rafaels antagonism towards Camp Integrity and trying to help facilitate the citys mission of forcing everybody out. Now, the city of san rafael did not respond to our requests for comments about the claim that it is trying to dissolve the preliminary injunction protecting that encampment. Now as you might know, many local communities have been waiting for a Supreme Court decision on an oregon case that would clarify what communities can do, whether people can be fined or jailed for camping in public. If the communities dont have somewhere else to go, that case could have an impact here. Now, this morning, attorneys for the people of that encampment will appear in a marin county superior courtroom seeking a restraining order, forcing that east bay tire shop to turn the music off. Thanks, brie. Well, new at 6 00, san jose is getting a huge financial boost to help crack down on speeding drivers. City leaders Just Announced an 8. 5 million federal grant. The money will cover most of the cost to install 33 new speed cameras in some of the highest risk locations. The data will not be shared with police to support criminal investigations, only for speed limit enforcement. The program is expected to roll out late next year. It is a sunny start all across the bay area. And then as we get the kids off to school, drop off time in san jose, it will be at about 52 degrees. But look at the difference between drop off time and pickup time. It will be 80. With all of that sunshine and a nice summer like day 82 for that High Temperature in the south bay. Well see that in much of the east bay with upper 80s for the inland east bay in concord, 86 degrees 80 for napa, and 71 in San Francisco. But well bring those temperatures down just a few degrees for tomorrow afternoon. And, mike, youve been watching the morning commute. Any issues popping up out there . You know, no major issues. Were talking about smooth flow of traffic, mostly green sensors and no real surprises. I told you wed check on the crash down here on highway 17. Its actually the campbell on ramp to southbound 17, only affecting local traffic at most. And it should be clear soon. The arrow at the top shows you where we typically expect to see some more slowing, but not for another half hour. So everything seems to be on pace. Vasco road shows some typical slowing, but were still under the half hour mark and actually half highway four at the top. Thats a pretty good travel time.
