And that active Shooter Drill is about to begin any minute now here at john your health in the buildings behind me their vacant and theyre going to tear them down anyway so its Perfect Timing for them to use it for good cause and thats to get First Responders ready 04 00am a mass shooting situation now joining us live is ben drew hes the Public Information officer with the hospital tell me why its so important to get all these agencies together and practice for this worst Case Scenario. Well were all hoping that we never face a situation like this, but unfortunately were seeing it more and more and we want to be as prepared as possible, where the Trauma Center for the county so we want to make sure that were prepared and also that we are closely coordinating with the Walnut Creek Police department concord Police Department in contra costa fire. As well to make sure that were all working together. And about to take place any minute to fourday training. What do you think people will learn from this. Well its an opportunity really to go through a very realistic scenario and test people under pressure and also how do we all coordinators different agencies and make sure that were working together to save as many people as we can and especially as you guys as the hospital when you know you have multiple. Victims coming in with gunshot wounds have to act fast and you know have to know how your to manage all these agencies exactly we we deal with gunshot wounds unfortunately, a lot as the Trauma Center and in a mass casualty event we would certainly be bringing in more surgeons more staff more nurses. To make sure that we we can be able to treat as many people as possible. And yes, we want to make sure that were coordinating as much as we can so that if a real incident does occur. Weve already gone through the practice and the training. This is me a very realistic drill you may hear. They gunshots screaming chaos, some sirens but its not going to impact patient care correct. Thats right. Yes we are at a building thats about a 10200 yards from our actually our main hospital and so were not closing the hospital at all were not closing the emergency departments, so people patients visitors can continue to access the hospital just as they would on a normal day. Cnn everyone at home dont freak out, but you know this is for a good cause you guys need you need practice just to get ready for this perfect. Situation. Yeah as i said we hope words never going to come to a situation like this, but if something does happen we want to make sure that were prepared and they were working together as all these different agencies coming together all right, thank you so much for joining us. And that training is about to take place any minute were told that those police are going to break through those doors and basically pretending that active shooters inside that building so were going to make sure we shoot video of all of that and you can watch that actually on our app kron on at 10 oclock for now live in walnut creek Sarah Stinson kron 4 news. I have more color right now that i have all year long as a last there exactly and were going to see plenty more of it today to know where that white. Get outside, dont let anyone tell you not it said not so the right now for San Francisco, but do trust it will get there later on today you are seeing conditions, nice and foggy in San Francisco, but not so much so in san jose where after a cloudy start to the morning that cloud cover is broken apart. Now setting us up for some sunshine. The east bay berkeley starting to come into view and you can see the hills beginning to be eliminated by some of thahinet nshats going help to warm us up into the afternoon. High pressure is still in play here so we still do have some rather warm inland daytime highs rising well into the 90s for a few spots in the bay obviously no 90s at the coast will be 60s and 70s in San Francisco as well as up and down the coastline and some 80s mixed in there when you head down the peninsula along the side of the day saying carless redwood City Mountain view a lot like yesterday in the mid 80s today, south bay upper 80s to low 90s. Morgan hill at 91 livermore at 90 degrees. Pleasanton dublin on up north to san ramon the upper 80s while danville walnut creek in concord in the low 90s. Oakland berkeley and richmond in the 70s, 80s and 90s for the north bay yet again today and youre going to find a few more of those 90s come tomorrow too as tomorrows temperatures really not changing much as compared to today slightly cooler but not a whole lot. Thursday friday saturday and sunday to finish out the we can make our way into the weekend looking a lot more seasonable daytime highs in land falling into the low 80s at times. Rebecca. All right john has been busy around the bay area this morning and the commute is still under way here getting into San Francisco. This is going to be or wait so were seeing it backed up in them. Macarthur maze, especially in those cash paying lanes fast track your movement through a little bit better, but its still going to be quite slow across the upper deck into San Francisco 15 minutes for your west on 80 right over to the fremont street exit and its been passed act on the san mateo bridge but so were proving a little bit by a few minutes as far as the drive time, its gone down a during a our last couple of minutes here and were only a 25 of trying to get over from the east bay to the peninsula. Im not tracking any issues on the flat section the high rise looks good over to foster city just a lot of folks trying to use of this morning. The Richmond Center fell bridge. Youre still backed up just passed a the richmond parkway exit in those cash paying lanes and once you get on to the bridge itself. Its going to be a little bit better 11 minute drive time for you getting up to the north bay and chp has a fog advisory issued you can see why this is for the Golden Gate Bridge can make out the towers right now, but said thats really going to be the only thing thats in your way its all the farm so visibility, not the greatest so make sure you havent opened up both hands on the steering wheel, but no accidents or stalls to tie up your drive, your drive time though standing at just a little over 30 minutes into San Francisco. Tenet winners andlosers with our financial expert rob black and were starting with a loser with this system usually is yes a starkly we have 12 months in the year yeah than septembers typically the weakest. It follows a very volatile august. We have been said dont get too much and month by month because markets alltime high 7 to 10 years. The summer trying to a close is ultimately we have here august is officially or september averages at klein about half of one percent to dont go too crazy on it. Trump is upped his tweeting and bank of america just a survey recently that any time trumps twitter activity spikes not good in the short term for the market plus we get the uk brexit deal going on will it or wont it china trade issues going on with that or want it. September is typically not a month and then we get into october November December budget flush holiday kind of thing so september be a little cautious on maybe never will dont get on the market you dont have a crystal ball with that just know that it could be rough for about a historically it is ok and historically i thought that disasters for some reason were good for business in a sick terrible Hurricane Dorian are saying is is bad. Yeah short its going to cost the insurers about 25 billion hurricane or in and thats early estimates they typically go higher from there. With that id like area said disasters tend to be good news. Its short term if you own a house maybe a falls in iowa. But people come in and say hey its a buying opportunity short term bad because theres a huge mass home depot lowes will help you clean it up a van started parts auto zone and Oreilly Automotive a lot of cars get wet get moist get grossed get sick and can be recovered to lot of new auto parts going but 25 billion is expected for the storm, they tore us budget for storms here is about 70 billion. So this is eating up a lot of it comes in is still a more storms forecast to can i know nothing about forecasts. 2017 rough year for insurers. The United States 2008 he was a bit of relief. The 2017 that wildfires hurricanes and it was about a billion year. And rob the leslie youre a businessman not a romantic the first to admit it and you have it all for putting up forever. Youre going to have issues and you should be able to talk money millennials are getting married so they have a little bit more assets to protect. Theyve also gone through too rough economic patches in 2002 in 2008 they dont they know that assets can kind of disappear. Getting married later in life, theyre worried about their spouses who have college debt that they dont inherit that the prenuptial not a bad thing it basically says daria ive got a really cool cd from the beach boys i ive got to really get rat is that the beastie boys that i want back you put it down in writing. I got tht out of me as about so its not about thing also women are big part of the survey because theyre getting in the workforce, a more and more self 45 attorney say women are responsible for paying alimony so before it was the women who wanted to treat up to protect themselves now. Well top of both sides want rate men want them to where they want to protect themselves. Yeah, absolutely and a again its it my generation your believe are close. Cleanup from bad. Theyre like oh yeah, and i just asked how she lost her home for inside of freedom right after not bad, its just a way of communicating finances an adjustment that you were romantic like it like youre planning on bad things happening.
