In Contra Costa County phillipe djegal all kron 4 news story that tuition is already under way for folks in San Mateo County tonight. Were another group of fastspreading wildfires are growing in size. The Evacuation Order covers but state park including the bronco knowles community. Evacuation warnings are in effect for the following areas thats thats good creek county park the loma maher and Dearborn Park have also been put on alert kron 4 chief meteorologist Lawrence Karnow his here right now hes been tracking these conditions weve seen that big haze thats been hovering around our area and were also talking about the threat that could happen as winds die down later on tonight, lawrence yeah, you know what were going to see some of that smoke actually seep back into parts of the rest the bay area but. Im going to watch a little bit of a wind switch i think the winds going to pick up. I think overnight tonight a bit in spots around the bay area weve seen those winds of course weve had the record heat around the bay area again were looking at more hot temperatures again tomorrow and very dry air humidity down to about 10 in around some of these fires and the winds now out of the west to 10 lead Miles Per Hour in a blackhawk 15 and brent, what you get in and around these canyons those winds can gust quite a bit more in fact likely are doing so right now but may pick up as we head through the night around area so you can a gamble fire to the north theyre continuing to burn the winds. Theyre fairly similar little stronger toward outlet speak with this is right at the top of the peak, almost some 20 mile an hour winds beginning to kick up their more of north westerly component those winds there, but certainly a concern is that is in some very difficult terrain back toward the just east of pastor there you get up here toward Dearborn Park lamar and thats were looking at some of those winds to about 1012 Miles Per Hour there right now theyre located a close to the ocean waters going to see more of a sea breeze so the humidity should really come up there and that will help firefighters but overnight tonight, heres the forecast for some of these winds weve been watching those record hot temperatures and some of the offshore winds now little more of the north north westerly component going to start to kick in, but still blustery look that to 21 Miles Per Hour snow me getting the mountaintops some of these winds going to be gusting much stronger in those areas may subside a little bit by tomorrow morning and thats when we expect some of that smoke to work its way back in the bay area. And thats where were looking at right now another spare the air alert in effect as were going to see some moderate amounts of air quality along the coastline and the north bay but boy east bay in the south bay. Look is a very poor air quality in and around those fires and of course the fires look like theyve got a long way to go before. Theyre going to be put out the flames from here back to you all right lawrence, thanks so much meanwhile get ready for yet another night of possible rolling blackouts pg and e warning folks that they could be in the dark for as long as 2 hours tonight. Further south in Monterey County more folks have been ordered out of their homes as the river fire continues to rage near salinas the flames so far have burned more than 4,000 acres since early sunday morning and his only said to be 10 contained tonight. Cal fire believes that lightning sparked this fire like so many others across the area. 4 firefighters suffered heatrelated injuries and as many as 6 structures have been destroyed more than 15 other structures are now being threatened and were continuing to track a number of fires across the bay area. Theres still no relief in sight for those fire crews on the front lines. Chief meteorologist Lawrence Karnow joins us a very right now with the very latest on the Current Conditions were seeing and when we could finally see a little bit of reprieve yeah john boyer weve got a long way to go were just headed into the heart of the fire season and things get going with all the lightning strikes around the bay area and of course the hot temperatures. Didnt help all that hot weather continuing out there so humidity all the way down into boy just about 10 or so left percent or so in around some of these fires making it just perfect fire conditions the burn one thing that they dont have or huge strong gusty winds right now were looking at some 10 mile an hour winds 15 Miles Per Hour in and around the fire. But certainly that could change overnight. I think well start to see stronger winds beginning to pick up the good news is thats going to be more of a sea breeze, the downside is maybe 20 maybe some 30 mile an hour gust, developing in some of the mountainous areas inside some of the terrain as we take you near Lake Berryessa you can see all these fires burning here in and around this area will continue to see more that smoke filter into that area as well and as the winds subside late tonight early tomorrow morning, well see smoke all around the bay area something to be concerned about also along the coastline. Weve got another fire this just really east of pesky darrow winds now more out of the northwest at 10 even 12 Miles Per Hour that is burning in an area that is very rugged and well a little more green there along the coastline theyre going to see a higher influx of the humidity and thats some good news for them the winds. Not good news even though its going to be more of westerly component the winds certainly going to be Strong Enough for talking maybe some 20 mile an hour gusts may 30 mile an hour gusts across some of these areas with the fire, especially in the north bay and then by tomorrow afternoon, those winds again begin to pick up a more of a westerly component to win that will bring up the humidity and the temperature should begin to come down that should help firefighters a little bit as they try to get a whole on some of these fires back to you all right lawrence, thanks so much. Still to come tonight here on kron 4 news at 5 were staying on top of breaking news, this tuesday as we continue to monitor a number wildfires burning across the bay area, forcing hundreds of folks to flee their homes.
