State leaders walk through a brand new covid19 testing lab in Southern California friday, happening exactly the right time when more pressures being placed because of the increase were experiencing around this nation the new 25 Million Dollar lab in valencias part of californias recent one 0. 4 billion dollar contract with Diagnostics Company perkin elmer, the lab aims to significantly boost the states testing capabilities, adding an extra 150,000 process test today with the goal of a 24 hour turnaround time the latest state data shows labs across california are averaging one point today turnaround time with about 100,000 tests a day this lab represents a true opportunity not just to do things scale that really only california can achieve the governor said the lab started in taking samples this week Health Leaders say this new partnership will deploy testing resources to communities in need.
