The district is facing a 12 million budget short fall and risks a takeover by the county. The move affects 700 students who will now be reassigned to four different neighboring schools. The decision to close schools is not an easy one and its, many School Districts in california are having to go through the same process because of declining enrollment. The district says the schools were chosen because of low enrollment trends and operational costs. Administrators are planning to close a third school at the end of next year.
