The chief says he does not want the call to call in the National Guard. Judge deborah ryan has decided to close the courts today. She will monitor what is going on before deciding if the courts will remain closed tomorrow. She says her decision is based on community safety. At 5 30 this morning, our cameras spotted someone running into a store and coming out with items and jumping into a car waiting outside. In san leandro, firefighters dealt with two separate fires late last night and early this morning. One at the walmart on davis street. At one point propane tanks were exploding and thankfully no one was hurt. The Alameda County fire Department Said there were two fires inside walmart at two different times. A small when 11 00 pm was put out and then firefighters went back because the fire reignited. There were reports of people breaking in and stealing things before the fire started. The fire connected to that incident is under investigation. Five miles away, firefighters put out another fire at a storage facility. The fire started on the side of a strip mall and spread to the back of a storage unit and no one was hurt. Neighboring structures were water damaged and probably smoke damage to the adjacent storage units. As far as the physical buildings, there was no fire extension.
