It happened on september 22nd in el sobrante at the appian food and liquor on appian way. The clerk identified by his wife as siraj, is being treated in a San Francisco burn unit. Deputies say they arrested 38 year old Kendall Burton at the scene. Burton was booked on a series of charges, including assault with a Deadly Weapon battery or arson, causing bodily injury, robbery and mayhem. Now to San Francisco, where four men have been charged in connection to a deadly shooting in the haight. Officers were called to rose and webster streets for a report of a shooting at seven at night. This was on june fifth. The victim, a 25 year old man, had already been taken to a hospital where he later died. 28 year old jeremiah fisher. 25 year old chase goodspeed taylor, 24 year old de niro, goalie and 21 year old jamari willis. All of San Francisco have been charged with murder. Three of the four also face weapons charges. They were arraigned last week and pleaded not guilty. All four are being held without bail. Firefighters on the scene of a fire in the city of oakland. This is on parker avenue near outlook avenue in the eastmont neighborhood right near 580. Oakland fire says about one acre of grass is burned, but in just the last 30 minutes, it does appear that embers caught the roof of a nearby home on fire. We have seen firefighters up there on the rooftop battling the flames near the attic area. Sky fox giving us a live picture right now of that scene down below in oakland. Offd says they rolled about six engines to the scene. We also saw one resident who initially appeared to be fighting the fire with a hose from their balcony. San jose firefighters responded to a small vegetation fire this afternoon. It started near a creek not far from the Roosevelt Community center on east santa clara street. Cal fire in the north bay released new figures today on the wildfires for its unit so far this year. And really how they compare to years past from january to september 30th of this year, cal fire and lake napa and sonoma counties responded to 290 fires with just 565 acres burned. Now, compare that to 2020, where more than 400,000 acres burned during that same period. These are stats from the last five years, 2018, 2015. So the inversion is sort of pinched down. And when its pinched down like that, the air is generally sinking. Thats why it pinches down. But when the air sinks, it warms and thats whats happening. So in the inland bay valleys, were seeing temperatures maybe 3 or 4 degrees warmer than they were today or than they were yesterday, today. And temperatures tomorrow will be a little bit warmer as well. So with that coming our way, were going to be seeing temperatures by end of the week, middle of the week, probably see temperatures into the mid 90s in the warmest spots. And of course, that triggers all sorts of fire danger concerns, which we know is something that is very typical for this time of year. The trend is this. As you see, you can see the upward trend in temperatures and the High Pressure is building in. It started really yesterday and then today its today and tomorrow. In the next few days into friday and saturday, its going to its going to apex or crest, and thats going to give us a pretty decent fire danger. Now with fire danger, one things you worry about is you worry about heat, right . And then you worry about winds. And so these are the wind forecast for the next couple of days. Weve got a fairly brisk wind out there. Now, the colors are what you generally look at the numbers dont look for the zone of wind. And so in this case, youve got some pretty good zones of wind up in the north and east bay. And then as you go into tonight and tomorrow, it backs off. But then watch what happens tuesday day night in beyond that, youre going to see the winds start to come more aggressively out of the valley. And so that could create some problems, maybe see a fire weather watch. Im not sure well see that. I think it stays right at or below criteria. Nothing extreme, at least in this particular forecast. But something to think about, right . Just because it hasnt rain in a long time and were dry as could be, fuel moistures are way down from where they should be or would not should be, but where wed like to have them. So the forecast model shows us the fog at the coast actually getting pushed away as those winds start to go more offshore and thats the plan, more of a more of an offshore flow thatll take us right through this week. This whole week is going to be really nice beach weather and its going to be pretty darn warm inland with numbers into the low and mid 90s as we get into friday and saturday. So its not a i guess i wouldnt call it a heat wave, but its going to be very, very warm wave. So as we go into the next couple of days, look for more heat. Air quality is staying pretty good because that smoke has been pretty much tamped down by all the rain that we had the other day, especially in the northern fires right. But that wind direction is coming out of the north. And so thats a thats a very warm fall like typical weather pattern. Its classic fleet week pattern. And thats what were going to get. Ktvu tom vacar reports almost 22 hours after the coast guard received a call that a swimmer apparently attacked by a shark had gone missing have called off their search on the sea at midmorning. The coast guard says it got an urgent call about a possible shark attack on marins Wildcat Beach about nine miles north of Stinson Beach. The Coast Guard Air and sea, along with the National Park service, Stinson Beach fire rescue, as well as marin county sheriff and fire, all responded to the very remote area, served only by trails where the incident occurred. In my time here, we havent heard of anything like this happening yesterday was definitely a crazy day here at the ranch. Many more park rangers than normal flashing lights a certain degree of chaos all day long. The coast guard officially ended the search 8 a. M. Monday, while other searchers remained behind to see if they could find anything, including remains along the shore. That search ended an hour later. The victims identity has not yet been released since there is no body to be identified and next of kin would be notified first. Worldwide even in shark rich northern california, this is truly a rare event. 50 times less likely than getting hit by lightning. Fatalities are very rare and head injuries also rare. But it is, you know, something that we people that are in the water on any regular basis, you know, have to, you know, think about and consider if we do have a variety of different sea life that the sharks really like to feed on, come around four. The bay area is set to receive millions of dollars in state grants to help improve Traffic Safety. The California Office of Traffic Safety announced today it will be awarding more than 400 grants totaling close to 130 million. It just means that the temperatures are warming and that, in fact, is what were seeing, an increase in temperatures as we head towards the end of this week and into the weekend. And so that indication just that that that cue from the model showing the fog being swept away tells you that youre going to see some offshore winds that are its going to be brisk, especially on tuesday night and again on wednesday night. But again, i were saying it looks like a lot of its staying below fire weather criteria, fire warnings and things like that. But it can change really easily.
