Biden also announced some new federal steps to encourage vaccinations, including free rides to vaccination sites from Lyft and Uber. “It isn’t Democratic progress and Republican progress. It’s American progress. And now we’ve got to take the next step together,” Biden said, as he emphasized his goal of getting at least 70 percent of U.S. adults at least partially vaccinated by July 4.
