Los Angeles Times owner appoints Terry Tang as interim edito

The paper's owner Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong moved quickly to name the new leader to settle a newsroom roiled by massive layoffs, a one-day strike and the loss of three top editors in the past two weeks. Tang becomes the paper's first female editor.
