Authorities are on the lookout for a man they said carjacked a 17-year-old girl on Tuesday at an elementary school near Cactus Road and 19th Avenue. Officers with the Phoenix Police Department just after 8 a.m. initially responded to a neighborhood near Cactus Road and 23rd Avenue after receiving a report of a suspicious pickup truck in the area, said Phoenix police spokesperson Sgt. Maggie Cox. The caller told police two people appeared to be asleep in the pickup truck, Cox said. When contacted by police, the pickup truck moved backward into a police vehicle and then forward into a cement fence a couple of times, Cox said. No officers were injured.
