Members of Massachusetts National Guard return from Washington, D.C. Ted Wayman and Josh Brogadir WCVB MELROSE — Members of the Massachusetts National Guard who traveled to Washington, D.C., to provide extra security throughout the week of President Joe Biden's inauguration have returned to the Bay State. Buses carrying members of the 182nd Infantry Regiment, who are based in Melrose, arrived at the armory in the city shortly after 5:15 p.m. Saturday. Melrose Mayor Paul Brodeur encouraged residents to welcome the troops back by lining the sidewalks around the armory — but while wearing face masks and with appropriate physical distancing.
