Ministerial railway conference can boost Korea's status Posted : 2021-03-11 16:06 By Ko Chang-nam The 49th Ministerial Conference of the International Organization for Railway Cooperation (OSJD) will be held in June in South Korea. This is the first time for the Republic of Korea to host the conference, and it must be great news! The OSJD, founded in 1956 and with its headquarters in Warsaw, is an international organization that coordinates Eurasian railways policies and oversees related railway standards with regard to passenger and freight transportation of international railways among Eurasian countries. South Korea became the 29th nation to join the group in 2018. Currently, the OSJD has 29 member countries, including Russia, China, Mongolia and North Korea, in which Eurasian railways including the Trans-Siberian Railway (TSR), Trans-China Railway (TCR), and Trans-Mongolian Railway (TMGR), are located.
