Mogollon, a mining ghost town in the Gila, reopens mid May Cheryl Thornburg GLENWOOD - Mogollon, the mining ghost town in the Glenwood area, reopens May 15. The Purple Onion Cafe opens at 9 a.m., the Old Kelly Store and the Mogollon Museum open at 10 a.m. The Old Kelly Store features jewelry, souvenirs, Southwest paintings, gourd art, embossed copper pictures and much more. The museum’s collection includes ancient Native American pottery, historic pictures, vintage clothing, mining implements, antique furniture, saddles, weapons and vintage toys and household items. It’s a visit to times gone by. Mogollon will be open every Saturday and Sunday through mid-October, plus Memorial Day, May 30 and Labor Day, Sept. 5. For information, call 575-539-2005.
