His latest single "Genius of Song" finds North questioning, "in a fantastically meta fashion, how one should go about making a song." He explained further in a release: "I saw The Genius of Painting in Spain. I'd never heard of it but I love that idea. To me, this album looks like that, like a gaudy baroque painting. If not that, it looks like a technicolour Hollywood drama."
