There will be more new faces than incumbents on the El Paso and Socorro school boards following Saturday's election results.
At El Paso Independent School District, District 3 trustee Josh Acevedo was the only incumbent to win re-election.
Former District 1 trustee and board president Bob Geske and District 5 trustee Chuck Taylor did not to seek re-election.
District 4 incumbent Diane Dye was decisively defeated by newcomer Isabel Hernandez, unofficial results showed the two-term trustee with less than 10% of the vote in the six-way race.
Hernandez, who had more than 57% of the vote, was one of four EPISD candidates to receive campaign contributions from the Kids First political action committee, which has historically supported charter schools.
