Print Pete Gilbert, WBAL-TV The NCAA College World Series is set to start this week and two Maryland teams are fighting for softball glory. Both the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and Morgan State University play on Friday. For the fourth time in school history, UMBC is headed to the NCAA tournaments. It's a behemoth with 64 teams, but unlike, say 2019 (more on that later), when the Retrievers show up, they expect to do some damage. Battling through a COVID-19 season, UMBC survived and thrived. UMBC won the America East Championship and has a date with Arizona in the Big Dance. But it was a journey with so many pit stops along the way.
