Most of Santa Clara's Mass Vaccination Sites Are Closing Soon (but That's a Good Thing) With 80% of eligible county residents vaccinated against COVID-19, four of the five mass vaccination sites in Santa Clara County will shutter in the coming weeks. Remaining vaccine appointments in the county will be handled through mobile efforts, pop-up locations, retail pharmacies, and clinics. San Francisco isn't the only Bay Area metro presently boasting an 80%-plus vaccination rate amongst eligible residents. Santa Clara County — the metropolitan that was once ground-zero of the Bay Area's COVID-19 crisis — currently has a similiar vaccination rate. Now in tandem with COVID-19 case rates at an all-time low, there's simply not a need anymore to continue operating four of the county's five mass emergency vaccination sites.
