Medford Mustangs dedicate season to former advisor Bob Bigelow Dom Nicastro Correspondent The Medford High School boys' basketball team, starting its season just last week, is great on many levels. The Mustangs get to play after a long delay due to COVID-19 precautions taken by the Greater Boston League. The sport usually starts the Monday after Thanksgiving. They played their first game last Saturday, March 6, against host Malden, and ended up beating their longtime rivals, 61-43. But it’s also great because Medford gets to dedicate the season to longtime friend and advisor of the program Bob Bigelow, former NBA player and Winchester great, who died suddenly last summer at the age of 66.
