SHALIMAR — After being assured that Okaloosa County would not be at risk, the County Commission on Tuesday unanimously agreed to allow the county to serve as the “conduit” issuer of up to $10 million in bonds for the planned Destin High School. According to Deputy County Administrator of Operations Craig Coffey, the educational facilities revenue bonds will be used by the nonprofit Destin High School Inc. to pay for the acquisition, construction, improvement, renovation, installation and/or equipping of three existing buildings and an auditorium at the Grace Lutheran Church property at 4325 Commons Drive W. Those anticipated Destin High School facilities total about 28,000 square feet on about 5 acres, according to Coffey.
