The Budget Committee has come to an agreement on a $3.5 trillion Democrats to pass reforms like expanding the child tax credit, offering paid medical and family leave and potentially overhauling the immigration system. It's also expected to include changes to the U. S. Tax code and it would expand Medicare allowing coverage for hearing, dental and vision and put money into research and development and technology. We are very proud of this plan. We know we have a long road to go. We're going to get this done for the city, making average americans lives a whole lot better. But many progressive democrats say 3.5 trillion isn't enough. Some moderates say it's too much, especially on the heels of covid relief spending. So today, President joe biden will try to sell the plan to the skeptics at the Senate democrats, party lunch and he'll meet with governors and mayors to talk about the bipartisan infrastructure framework.
