“Do you Twitter?” asks the College Heights Secondary School website. “Follow Mr. Bleecker on Twitter as he posts class updates, useful links, suggestions, homework assignments, important dates, and more online. Check out Ms. McNeill’s Tweets too.” Two local teachers are using the technology to help them stay relevant to their students. Jerry Bleecker teaches biology and information technology and Alison McNeill teaches Grade 8 and 9 French at College Heights. Bleecker has his Master of Education of Technologies from UNBC and has a keen interest in technology in the education system. “Students coming into the school have access to all kinds of technologies from iPod touches to cellular phones,” Bleeker said in his video response. Teachers want to keep in communication with their students and students can pick up this information from their phone.
