Article content OTTAWA — More than a year after the COVID-19 pandemic first hit Canada, most of the country is now plunging back into sweeping lockdowns, curfews and stay-at-home orders — all while rapid testing at essential workplaces remains the exception instead of the norm. With longterm care homes now under control due to vaccinations, workplace outbreaks are arguably the single biggest problem Canada faces. But while there are some bright spots when it comes to rapid testing, the rollout of this crucial tool remains painfully slow and bogged down by unnecessary regulations.
