Democrats in the Illinois Senate used their majority power Friday to approve new state legislative maps, while Democrats in the House passed a new Illinois Supreme Court map for the first time in almost 60 years. The House was expected to take up the issue of new maps for Illinois House and Senate districts later Friday, while the Senate was expected to vote on the Supreme Court map. No Republicans voted for the new maps. The Democratic governor hasn’t talked about the proposed Supreme Court map since it was made public a week ago. Gov. JB Pritzker has said he would veto an "unfair" map.
