Reviewed by Tony Cummings I don't know about "arriving". In America at least this amenable Tesan has already established himself as a leading exponent of modern worship (not that Chris appreciates the "modern worship" tag). Tomlin's songs like "Forever" and "The Wonderful Cross" have made a huge impact on the US Church and it's only a matter of time before these joyful declarations of faith like "Indescribable", "Holy Is The Lord" and "How Great Is Our God" join them in being sung in thousands of American fellowships. Truly, Tomlin possesses the rare ability to write worship songs of infectious singability. Helping 'Arriving' achieve its impact (and it debuted high in America's mainstream album charts) is the crisp and inventive studio production by Ed Cash. Possibly not quite as "stripped down" as pre-release interviews might have suggested, this is still a fine example of the "less is more" art of production, with Cash's acoustic guitar work and intuitively rhythmic programming adding zest to Chris' songs of vertical love. An outstanding worship album.
