Protests in the countries in countries such as the United Kingdom germany canada iran and new zealand and many more but its not only showing support for the racially and financially oppressed underclass here in the United States that has brought many of these global activists to the streets its also the violence that Law Enforcement agencies have perpetrated in their own countries yahoo news reports that protesters are also calling for domestic chart changes in france there are demonstrations in response to the killing of black frenchmen the dhamma tarrar in 2016 in an australia protesters are calling for the government to reexamine the treatment of aboriginal peoples. And this includes our neighbors to the north and canada where toronto is currently reeling from the death of 29 year old black woman regis core chimpsky pocket who mysteriously fell to her death from her 24th floor apartment balcony after police were called to her apartment so today my friends lets examine the black lives Matter Movement outside of us borders as we look at canadas reaction the Police Violence against minorities as we start watching all this. Whats going on in a city street you want to. See the rises you always stay see. Great city displays systemic deceptions leaks show which. Brings up the show as. Well were going to watch for the hard. To imagine the 6 joining us now to discuss the latest on the mysterious death of 29 year old black woman regis kurtz inskeep after trying to police were called to her home is our correspondent in toronto alex male a bitch thank you for joining us alex. Thanks for having me so alex please explain to our viewers what we know so far about the events leading up to this womans death why were Police Called to her home and what were the and what are they saying took place the that led to her to her death her fall. Well what were still waiting to hear from the Toronto PoliceServices SpecialInvestigations Unit they usually look into cases like this where theres some discrepancy of what exactly went down but let me tell you something theres been a media leak from the toronto sun and this is basically the story that they are saying what theyre saying happened here so ms pac has had some mental issues in the past her mother called the police to come because of a domestic dispute when the Police Arrived what they did at that point is actually separate the mother and brother from this pack kept herself asked to go inside the bathroom a couple Police Officers went inside the apartment with her was that somebody stayed outside with the mother and brother and then at one point she bolted for the balcony according to toronto sun reports she put some appliance to block that door of the balcony when the Police Officer saw that they basically ran to get to another apartment it looked like she was trying to get from one apartment balcony to another and before they could make it she fell to her death now from that account it looks like police were actually trying to help her. But the situation merits some some interest in it this is a situation where you have somebody with a history of Mental Health issues it does not look like its necessarily tied to racism per se that said we have had protests in the city because of the issues that were tied directly to george boyd and what has happened in the United States and when you take it to that level again when we talk about merit this is not without merit being that we do have our issues here in this country we do know that race some is systematic in canada our own premier here in Ontario Doug Ford has also said that loud after denying it in the beginning we do know we have an issue when you look at our Prime MinisterJustin Trudeau in blackface just a few years ago and of course they have been the media picked up on that we do know we have an issue. Went up former Opposition LeaderStockwell Day is just basically dismissing this in just the whole way the conservative element in this country is looking in to what has happened here in the past its like im saying systematic racism and were talking about anti black racism this is the issue of the day we know we have the same issues with aboriginal communities and other communities but lets talk about whats on the table here all you need to do is go to social media see my fellow canadians on there and you recognize you can recognize right from the 1st point that there is race of the racism in this country as much as we hate to hear it. Alex theres a lot to unpack here to help us with the current status of the investigation into the Toronto Police actions on that day. So what the police are doing right now they were supposed to talk to the family of miss pac at this week basically wrap all this up but with the toronto sun leak what police are saying is that they are pushing this further back and it looks like we will have some information by next week from the f. B. I. You itself as it stands and there seems to be some sort of you know there is looking at this report and theres something definitely there are people protesting were going to see where that goes i mean if this does turn into something other than what this story is saying well then you know its going to be just like in the states the people will have a reason to protest something that says that does actually directly tie to racism but i sense as i said as it stands right now it seems to have nothing to do with racism and more to do with a Mental Health issue of an individual something that also Police Forces need to be very sensitive to and thats when theyre approaching people that have these type of problems in their life. Thank you very much alex for joining us today and giving us the breakdown on that case i think its definitely one the watch given the given as you said the nature of racism that we see in canada and around the globe. Spacing a lot of Different Police departments thank you so much sir. Thank you. America remains in chaos more than a week up to the death of george would protest from coast to coast and here in the Nations Capital hoping to put an end to Police Brutality and to push forward the black lives Matter Movement here now are some of the most powerful moments weve witnessed in the past few days and i will put a disclaimer on them they are wrong they are real and they are why would. I i. Know you cant walk in fear because if you want to come here youre not going to be here. Hot. Water so. Its like we cant talk we cant breathe we cant walk cant we cant sleep we cant do anything cant drive without being here we cant even call the cops for our safety you. Might say that. A guy great great. Great big great great that great great big. No i i think whats going on in philadelphia in that moment its going for the lot of them to come out and get him to get out not right. My. Greatness in a. God like restroom. For me. But you just see theres a. Tough. Situation for. Dogs. And thats again it is a federal. Law state law for these interstate facilities to cite for this and so i. Can feel. It and i say this whole you know this whole thing is nice to people and i think that what i was filing that they dont stay silent anymore and that you know they said to speak about this because these things are important and we do need to speak about this because they we keep. Going to say the way they are. You know getting out right. Joining us now also from trying to try to bring us a deeper look into the case that we were discussing earlier with alex relevance and how it has affected the community and try to as well as the world as writer activists andre dont miss it andre thank you so much for joining us i want to start and ask you what bothers you and others in toronto so deeply about the polices actions surrounding this pockets of death and what questions desperately need to be need to be answered at this moment. Well unfortunately this is all too common. We have a gentleman by the name of angelo q who is experiencing a Mental Health episode and police were called to the building where he was more and experienced the episode shortly afterwards he was shot to death not for longer gentlemen but the name of the other 3 campbell wouldnt be a brampton area which is just outside of toronto suburban area it was also apparently experiencing a Mental Health that the so were some sort of servants and when the Police Showed up and he was shot to death and now we see it again where the circumstances behind behind the packet steps are still up to the special Investigations Unit sit still and question right now the fact of the matter is police were called to the home of somebody who was experiencing mental hope it was so happens so. Its unfortunate that when people of the Family Member or friends or partners of some Years Experience about the hope that for so it is going or going through them to have questions as to whether to even Call Emergency Services what can happen what could be the end result of that. And underrate we know here in america that americans have a very long sordid in pretty troubled history with u. S. Law enforcement not only for people of color but also Indigenous Peoples and weve heard time and time again that there is such a push to have these people often go to a place like canada that seen as so much better in terms of its handling of race how prevalent is racism in canada Law Enforcement community. I dont even really know what to tell you when people say things like oh you know its different to canada they dont have the same kind of racism that exists in the United States unfortunately it doesnt help when our elected officials of people like our premier doug ford of ontario which is the most populous province of canada france where they go the other premier. Deny that stomach reaches them its even a thing that exists but we know what that is because the. Its experience that were terrible it collecting data get it were awful like collecting statistics but what we do shows step there are disproportionate about the Police Violence that are used especially on the on black people in the one in which in this people these arent conjectures these are plain facts weve had marches in canada not only for black wise but also for indigenous lives we have had proof that there is a genocide thats been acted on Indigenous People in canada the young men especially from the genus communities do you think this report events of Police Violence so when people in the United States and elsewhere talk about racism being different in canada i have to ask what are you talking about thats a great question to ask you know i want to finish up weve got a little bit of minute left we see an incredible response across the globe to the black lives Matter Movement here in the u. S. In light of joy george lloyds death why do you think that countries like canada other countries around the world are so embrace in this movement were seeing protests all over the world right now. Well this is this is putting a spark to the few black racism not only in the United States but literally around the world you know even can you can find replicate so that sort of racism that is the United States you can find it you know it can be done you can find it in the mainland europe you can find in countries like south africa still its still a problem we like to believe that weve made strides of progress in that racism is the thing in the past and unfortunately if you have if you talk to people from black near news just about anywhere in the world they will tell you that no blackness didnt just go away because there were some social science made i think what youre seeing right now is the order to scold and the way to the idea that racism is a little longer a problem when you look at the fact that there are protests happening in every part of the 50 states. People are coming up for a reason it is that that is so true i want to thank you very much for coming on and really highlighting this for us and hope to have you back on again soon thank you so much for all the good work that you do in covering these issues as well right. Thank you. Art as we go to break remember that you can also start watching the locks on the man through the brand new portable t. V. Up available on all platforms coming up the n. F. L. Is being accused of preposterously for their official stance on the protests taking brock in the United States taking place and then. Brings us the latest on the fallout for president trumps threats of martial law straight to watch. I dont have faith in this Government Official of president i dont have faith in the system. Ive got it so im just a broken system that does not decide for people like me. As long as theres. Different people who are here for Different Reasons but also john we also have. Most people in philadelphia are only about 2 paychecks away from homelessness. Join me every thursday on the alex simon show and ill be speaking to us from the world of politics Small Business im show business ill see you then. You. Know once you clear that she will be no use to you. I will scan my its always at the back i was of the. Moment. Not so much you know. Who to trust the good at the close up but. If they do get through to the. Yes. The. Yes. Its protests continue in the wake of the george boyd word weve seen Officers National guardsmen people of all races and backgrounds are joining in solidarity some are taking in meat others are marching alongside protestors and giving voice to the voices. But the solidarity doesnt stop there the race issues in america are also receiving support from professional sports coaches and players too Even International in v. A. Icon Michael Jordan known for his effort to get into action in social Justice Movements is taking a stand and an interesting show of protest support also came from n. F. L. Commissioner Roger Goodell the same goodell that made sure Colin Kaepernick would never play again after taking a knee just a few years ago here to tell us more is our team america sports producer regina him id like to bring good news monday i would just one day and were waiting for it were waiting for the day what were doing that the n. F. L. Is currently under fire for its response to the protests over the death of george lloyd especially since it essentially blacklisted collin capper nick whos still is not able to be employed by the n. F. L. For taking me or that the National Anthem what are some of the comments teams have made and how is the leagues response being received overall oh the lee oh the league you know youre playing devils advocate youre got your at least you said Something Like if they hadnt said anything the i or they would have drawn would be immense the you know the n. F. L. Said theyre saddened by the tragic events across our country the protesters reactions reflect the pain anger and frustration that many of them feel many of them interesting considering theres only 4 non white coat head coaches in the league one nonwhite owner and 2 not my g. M. And then the broncos coach vick then gio he decided to chime in and got himself in some hot water he said that the n. F. L. Is only a meritocracy i dont see racism in the n. F. L. At all i dont see discrimination in the n. F. L. At all and of course as you can imagine many of his fellow coaches and other players only kind of when you need to check yourself if you think theres no races in the n. F. L. This is the same lee that blackballed calling cabinet as a as much as you said where are you saying this is a totally fair you know league that were going in where the orders that you cited were. It was all white white and one non white owner of the day our city isnt there yet no youre pretty much like a crumb in an oreo cookie theres a lot of frosting and one pro the broncos coach is trying to keep his job and he tried to apologize he did he try to do that i realize what i said was wrong but didnt say he that the problem didnt exist so if the n. F. L. Is under hot water and your breeze decided to add fuel to the flames saying that he doesnt agree with anybody disrespects the flag including somehow Aaron Rodgers aside in a cabinet so its been a weird stance in the n. F. L. And you see them kind of sticking their status quo nothings changed if we switch over theres a theres another Major Sports League in the United States that actually has been making some pretty good strides in terms of what since all this started the n. B. A. Has been praised for that only supporting players who protest but theyre also making strides towards legitimate changes within their league in terms of how they
