Hanging from trees in Southern California just 15 miles apart the body of 38 year old malcolm harsh was discovered in victor ville 1st on may 31st and on june 10th of the body of 24 year old robert l. Fuller was found in palm dale federal Law Enforcement agencies are now were viewing the initial investigations into their deaths after outrage from Community Members many of whom accuse authorities of covering up possible lynchings meanwhile across the country in new york on june 9th a similar story played out the body of 27 year old Dominick Alexander was found hanging from a tree in a park near the hudson river jesse we dont have enough information right now to know what really happened but with all the racial tensions were reminded of our countrys horrible past which Billie Holiday one thing about in her song strange fruit. Ill tell you a barrage of this whole thing is bizarre 1st and foremost i guess i need to look at it this way ive never understood suicide to begin with and thats my fault i guess but i look at it is if youre to the point of committing suicide. Things can only get better if youre at that low level things can only improve but that being said i think we need to look at the situation here how normal is that for people to individually go out and hang themselves from trees is that the normal suicide today i dont think so you dont hear of a very often now you do hear of old days of lynchings definitely but that is a form of suicide time the strange to me really really strange it seems there would be other ways to kill yourself if you were going to do it rather than to go out to a remote place and hang yourself from a tree so definitely it needs to be looked into and you know theres that possibility of a serial killer here or plural killers because lets not forget ted bundy crossed the country serial killing women all the way from seattle and cali Seattle Washington to florida this to me sounds like serial suicide i dont think so. As the country debates Police Reform California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a law barring the States Department of corrections from entering into or renewing contracts with private Prison Companies and federal Immigration Detention Centers the state will reportedly make an exception only to meet Court Ordered inmate housing limits until 2028 when california says its going to ban incarceration at all private run Facilities Private prisons have little oversight and theyre maximize to their designs to maximize share holder profits now in california there are nearly 126000 inmates only a small fraction of them are actually held in private facilities so im not sure how much of an impact this is going to have on mass incarceration now people are backing the idea of Cutting Police budgets but addressing Police Brutality i mean. But we also have to focus on trying to thing our prison population. Well i look at it like this we certainly do and ive never been for private prisons ive never been one to say we should privatized our prisons because privatization means corporations run it and all corporations look for his bottom line profit so its imperative to keep the prisons full so the corporation can seek the biggest profit they can possibly get now maybe they should look at Something Like this reducing prison population how about a prison for violent offenders and a prison for nonViolent Crimes and of course the best thing this country to do right now to lower its prison population is to air the war on drugs because the war on drugs has been a miserable failure its gone on all the way from the seventys till now and thats why we have the majority of overcrowding in prisons are because of drug offenses no matter what they might be in the war on drugs and send big nonviolent criminals to violent penitentiaries theres got to be another way to deal with that and it but i dont want to make it to where White Collar Crime is laughed out no that should be harsh too but it is not a Violent Crime so i think inmates can be separated that way violent and nonviolent. In other news the Trump Administration has authorized the sanctions against members of the International Criminal court who are investigating a legend work crimes by american troops and intelligence officials in afghanistan in europe in 20032004 the same block any Financial Assets of i. C. C. Members held in the United States and prevents staff and their families from entering the country but its not just President Trump who has failed to work with i think seen in fact prior administrations have also declined to cooperate technically they dont have to know. Because the u. S. Is not party to the court but the United Nations Security Council has the power to refer cases to the i. C. C. And u. S. Citizens may still be subject to the courts jurisdiction especially as it investigates alleged crimes that took place and other member countries including afghanistan lithuania poland and romania as is whats happening in this case here so jesse what do you think about sanctioning the i. C. C. Staff well 1st of all we need to understand something our current president has never met a convicted war criminal that he doesnt like the part used them or maybe undertake it from. The United States never commits a war crime really what about lieutenant karalee in vietnam but then again you know we dont seem to want to be subjected to any type of jurisdiction whatsoever when it comes to our military to use their own so i highly doubt the International Court is going to have much of an impact on the United States of america because we do our own saying and we dont give a damn about the rest of the rest of the world really. On monday the Supreme Court ruled that title 7 of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects a gay and transgender people from discrimination in the workforce conservative Justice Neil Gorsuch who was appointed by President Donald Trump surprisingly contributed to the high courts 63. 00 majority opinion and went till the landmark decision firing workers for being gay transgender or bisexual was legal in more than half of all states so this is a major victory for the l g b t community and for human rights in general i think its great to see that justice course thats went independent here he went against the Trump Administrations pleas to rule against the workers this is a hyper partisan era but we have to maintain that the court is not political because its not supposed to be well you know i dont even know why the court. Now i know thats are stunning thing to say on behalf of gay and l g l g b t community but if you look at the preamble to the constitution thats the very 1st paragraph i believe it says all men were created equal now back then men meant everybody men meant men women children you name it thats just the way they talked back then but all men were created equal all that means it doesnt matter if youre gay it doesnt matter if youre l. G. Bt youre created equal so to me theyre always finding little loopholes to violate the constitution in some way shape or form and say well they said this but weve got lets get some lawyers in here and figure out a way around it this should not even have gone to court its a given all men which should be changed to people all people are created equal in the preamble to the constitution and of story. A new study by the Congressional Research service finds that surprise surprise president terms 27000. 00 tax cuts failed to deliver on their core claims while giving rich Business Owners more money supporters of the tax cuts and jobs act said it would incentivize businesses to spend more money at home ramp up investments and increase growth in wages they also said it would pay for itself but so far its failed on all accounts still the abysmal data has not stopped lawmakers from proposing another tax cut for the wealthy this time the trumpet ministration is proposing a temporary holiday for Capital Gains taxes as part of its Coronavirus Relief plan an estimated 75 percent of benefits from this proposed cut would go to of course the top one percent of earners jesse once again we see proof that the interests of the average american are ignored while those of the wealthy are prioritized and where the democrats on this well ill tell you a barrage more so where are all the trompe followers on this the blue collar white people out there who think hes doing such a great job for them were very out on this way to go people wake up donald trump only does things to benefit himself hes the upper one percent so he will get benefits for himself before everybody else sees any benefits i dont know why the people of america havent woken up to the fact donald trump is for donald trump end of story right there and this nonsense about more breaks for the rich like the rich dont get enough already come on so here we go again going around the same circle. And then the fact that the trumpet ministration wont say where the moneys go wait thats another interesting say how can they blindly not tell us where the moneys going when allegedly its our money and we have a right to know. Its time for a break when we return jesse sits down with army better and major danny shares and to talk about the link between Police Brutality and the military will be right back. Look the world. Lead. Thats geysers financial Survival Guide liquid assets now does it you can convert means it is quite easily. To keep in mind now as to to mean to a place in the us because their board. Is youll be via reflection of reality. In a world transformed. What will make you feel safe from. The isolation pool community. Are you going the right way or are you being. Direct. What is true what is faith. In the world corrupted you need to descend. To join us in the debt. Or inmate in the shallowness. Of the world. Its my pleasure to welcome back major danny sures a hes a Us Army Veteran author and antiwar activist he joins me now to talk about the link between the military and Police Brutality major sures and you know we have the same by you know if we just shifted army and navy because im antiwar and ive also written books so were in good company youre with each other now during recent protests defense secretary mark asper said he would not support president plumps proposal to invoke the insurrection act to deploy active duty troops in america as a veteran what are your thoughts on deploying active duty. Troops inside the United States well its absurd its on ethical and its a question of reconstitute you know you know mark aspart changed his mind lately but only after he said he wanted to dominate the battle and used all that military language using that act of war if the crap over and that is frankly seen and not our job and the idea that this is an insurrection in regrowth. Now their best numerous reports about an alleged drif forming between the military and the commander in chief is there any credibility to those claims i know a bunch of retired generals have come out pretty strongly have been strong well theres absolutely truth to this in fact i would say the level of military dissent where weve probably seen since the late vietnam war and its coming from really 3 levels of course you have the generals getting all the attention in the Mainstream Media and retired folks who are late to the table every time but among the veterans you have veterans for peace about for you that arent against the war all these organizations are that are putting out open letters and calling for folks to you know refuse their orders to the ploy and then finally in the rank and file we probably form for people refusing and want an anecdotal level im getting at their point nearly 100 note from active duty and National Guard strangers tell me were having a crisis of conscience and competence and dont want to go out into those streets this is i think actually pretty remarkable and under reported because the focus is on madison and mullen and that whole crew there mostly were from the military industrial complex. Thats very interesting that the rank and file feel that way now the military is not supposed to be political but in recent polls active duty troops have said that the military is becoming more politically polarized do you have any insight into this or yeah you know in part thats always been a little bit of that so whats the aisle a political i mean in a sense war and militarism are inherently however something explaining and the generals are sort of instructive here who are of kurds prime really these last few election cycles you have part and you can you operate you know fighting with one another to get generals indorsements you know liability has 90 and from has 89 in all this the last trouble of 30000 but i will say that i think that the not just the president be wrong but just this overall imperial attitude and the way that president s norm on their folders of props its inevitable that were going to thehotel it is ation among the older we could it is it is a wildly political to take you know protest leader more of 3 things will the number of deaths lower than one weekend in the newark riots of 1967 record an insurrection and then threaten to bring the 82nd airborne and thats a political act and youre done at the rumblings are just you know i dont remember taking my oath just to the fleeting president i remember something about enemies foreign and domestic in the competition and i mean that thats where we really serve. Absolutely now does the military have any choice in taking orders from a president if it believes that he is indeed violating the constitution you know on a technical level yes you know i remember even at the military patton even in class or to put that on refuting or unhappy or need orders so you know there is not only a moral obligation revolver a professional one but the problem is that thats all well and good until your faith and in order for you until youre facing a Court Martial and i think its doubtful that this integration into that war is going to treat those who are resisting on the force any active duty very kindly i would suspect that when things quiet down and they dont look like martyrs that camera will fall and these folks are going to be an example of so yes theoretically there are groups for it but the people who get in the side whats an ethical and whats illegal or the old giving you an ethical and your orders so its you know kind of a testimony to him in some cats that thats when and so now we cant talk about Police Brutality without talking about the militarys role in policing the world what are your thoughts on the link between the 2 well you know ive written many times articles with the title empire comes home or the empire comes home. And they always do right they come home in america in the immigrants from the plate that we destroy look at the british and the french but they come home in the tactics of the police the counterinsurgent you know were seeing in our cities we mirror that cosmetics the Armored Vehicles the sharing or and predominately but i think whats most disturbing is the militarized mandate and the militarized culture that has come home to our Police Forces which of course are represented with veterans not necessarily a bad thing but it can be. And the only experience the job experience you have you know iraq and afghanistan and iraq why alter or look like baghdad in certain neighborhoods and when ive been people were protesting you know 11 out of the last hour or 2 nights in kansas city i feel like were back with men who are and it really is a. Remark that small our republic or whats left of it. Why ive said it before i was actually physically in the philippines when Ferdinand Marcos declared martial law way back in the early seventys and we went from one night of freedom to the next day of having armed troops with machine guns on every Street Corner because of him the clarin martial law and im starting to see that here with our police when i look at our police today they dont look like police they look like a seated military in the middle of our country as incidents of racism play out daily in the news many people have renewed calls to rename military bases and certain navy ships of faith have them too many current we bear the names of secessionists generals who lost the fight to uphold slavery during the civil war do you personally faith its a good idea to rename these bases i do and i say that as somebody who takes this requite you know im always broke early dont get rid of the statues get rid of the names because then youre gonna rate repeat career and i wrote with andy base of it another west point retired colonel or a crime is calling for that renaming an act of. Will the better your point is needs folks werent just you know trout generals from our past that might be you know they were. They were traitors and it isnt even that when i thought. I was driving their housing area on robert. And then par
