Shane Warne says it is 'awesome' to see Hawks nickname return


The Australian star spent eight years at the Ageas Bowl between 2000 and 2008.
As well as captaining the side, Warne took 276 first-class wickets for Hampshire, at an average of 25.59.
He made a total of 2,040 runs, including a highest score of 107 against Kent at Canterbury in 2005.
Hampshire today confirmed they would be readopting the Hawks nickname in the T20 format, which they originally used in limited overs contests between 2003 and 2009.

The Hawks also contested the first ever T20 match against Sussex Sharks, following the format’s inception in 2003.
And Warne was pleased to see the Hawks name back involved with the club.
