Son of Carl’s Jr. founder brings new hot chicken chain to Portland suburbs Updated May 04, 2021; Facebook Share Dave’s Hot Chicken, a spicy fried chicken chain with Los Angeles roots, will open two locations in the Portland suburbs this year, the first launching April 30 at 7715 S.W. Nyberg St. in Tualatin, the company announced. A second restaurant will be added near the new Shake Shack at Beaverton’s Cedar Hills Crossing complex this fall. Unlike Nashville’s original Prince’s Hot Chicken and its many imitators, Dave’s Hot Chicken doesn’t offer bone-in chicken, but rather boneless chicken tenders, served either solo or in slider form with seven different spices ranging from “no spice” to “Reaper.” Beyond chicken, combo meals include kale slaw, mac and cheese, crinkle-cut fries, soft drinks and milkshakes.
