A U.S. Army Captain who lives in Moore County is at the center of an Army investigation into her participation in events surrounding last weekâs protests and violent riot at the U.S. Capitol. Emily Grace Rainey, who is known locally for protesting coronavirus restrictions and for her involvement with an anti-mask organization, helped lead a group of about 100 people from Moore County to Washington, D.C, on Jan. 6. â'I was a private citizen and doing everything right and within my rights,â she said in an interview with The Associated Press on Sunday. The Pilot was unable to reach Rainey for additional comment.
