Green harvesting, in which sugarcane "trash" is harvested for electricity, cattle feed, medicine and other uses instead of being burnt on site, could make money for the sugar industry while protecting both the health of Glades residents and the quality of the environment, writes the Sierra Club's Patrick Ferguson.
