Q Tell us about your childhood. A I have a brother and a sister, I was the youngest so I was probably a little bit spoiled. I think everyone took care of me a bit. I had a happy childhood and music was always at the centre of it. I sang for the first time when I was about 16, in a rock band in the church. After that I formed another rock band and this time we went around the pubs. It was more like a social outlet than anything, we did it for our own fun. Obviously, it was difficult times in Belfast around then, but music was a good thing for me, not just with the band but I was also in the Belfast Youth Orchestra and other things.
