Steve came onto VT to provide balance. VT has too long ignored those with the gentler touch. I worked with Steve on writing and editing and we became fast friends. Our phone calls drifted into hours and were often. Steve was a rare person, someone free of hate, someone it was difficult to find fault with. He was also tireless, a strong person, young for VT and the last person you would expect to die from anything.
