Fourth Member of Congress Tests Positive for COVID-19 Following Joint Session Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.) said he tested positive on Tuesday morning. Schneider blamed the contraction of the disease, which is caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, on having to spend time in a room with other members of Congress, during the storming of the Capitol, which interrupted the joint session. “Several Republican lawmakers in the room adamantly refused to wear a mask,” he said in a statement. Schneider, 59, said he’s showing no symptoms and is isolating. Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) said Monday she’d tested positive for the disease.
