Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.” These are two of the principles of Animalism, as painted on the barn wall in a scene from George Orwell’s seminal 1945 novella Animal Farm. In Orwell’s classic, the animals rise up against their human master with the idea of creating an egalitarian society where animals can be happy and free.
