Today Marks the 26th Anniversary of Singer Selena's Death :

Today marks the 26th anniversary of the death of singer, songwriter, model, actress and inspiration Selena Quintanilla-Perrez. Selena was one of the most popular Mexican-American entertainers of popular times.
Selena helped bring Latin music into the mainstream music scene. She was a bold, vivacious fashionista who capture the world with her style and music.
Selena's joint efforts with MAC cosmetics made her line of cosmetics the best-selling cosmetics line in history.
Often referred to as the "Tejano Madonna", Selena's life was cut short after she was shot and killed on March 31, 1995, by Yolanda Saldivar, her business manager and friend. Selena met Saldivar at her room at the Days Inn in Corpus Christi, Texas demanding financial statements. Saldivar shot Selena in the back. Selena was pronounced dead on arrival at Corpus Christi Memorial Hospital 16 days before her 24th birthday. She was only 23.
