Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports Thursday evening, word broke from ESPN that Trae Young would not play in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals due to the foot injury he suffered in Game 3 of the series when stepping on the foot of an official. ESPN Sources with @malika_andrews: Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young (foot) is out for Game 5 vs. Bucks tonight. Young will continue to rehab with hopes of playing in the Eastern Conference Finals Game 6 on Saturday in Atlanta.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 1, 2021 Young did some shooting on the court before the game (something he could have done on the practice court before Game 4 in Atlanta), but ultimately will reportedly not suit up Thursday evening for the Hawks. Young has not played since Game 3, when he came back from the locker room for the fourth quarter. The Hawks ultimately lost that game, but rebounded for a big win in Game 4 without him.
