perhaps a false positive or does it simply mean that there are -- the other pings were stronger and now it's time to move onto the other search areas? what does this mean to you? >> from what i understand the first pipg was at the highest amplitude. the ocean can play a lot of tricks on sounds, both from the debris -- whatever's on the ground, the seaweed around it, the temperature layers. things like that can play a lot of tricks on sound. the pinger is just supposed to get you into a general location. so moving to the north, i think, is encouraging because of the fact that the first ping they picked up was a sustained period of time. it was almost two hours. although the amplitude wasn't nearly as high as the second ping. the first ping was just as promising although it is much deeper there. >> peter, how do you interpret
