he is promising this will be not a traditional speech, that means no laundry list of policy p proposals, no recapping of his accomplishments. instead he wants to talk about the future. our jim acosta has a preview. >> reporter: poppy, white house officials say the president will deliver an unconventional speech during his final state of the union on thursday. the president will talk about the america he hopes to see after he leaves office but there are still a few things he wants to accomplish over the coming year. >> the president of the united states. >> reporter: the obama years are flying by fast. up next his last state of the union address in his video tweeted out by his chief of staff, the president said his speech will focus on his vision for the post-obama years. >> the big things that will guarantee an even stronger, better, more prosperous america for our kids. the america we believe in. every time i think about those kids, it gets me mad. >> reporter: at the top of the
