He is not in the west wing like normal. So many aides arent their working with him, his press secretary is at home, his daughter is at home, quarantining, even though she tested negative. His body man, other top aide, hope hicks, so many advisers currently arent in the west wing, many others are quarantining because they worked closely with someone that tested positive or were in that circle or they themselves tested positive. But the president projecting this and saying that he is going to go to the debate in miami next week, that he wants to get back on the campaign trail logistically when that happens still remains to be seen because the doctor says the president would not breathe a sigh of relief until next monday when the president progressed further, and you know, were several days away from that. It has changed things. There are so many people not coming into work. And not just in the west wing as well, it is something felt through the east wing and the residence, given thats where the president is quarantining, and the first lady also has it. We reported this morning that a military aide assigned to taking care of the president in the oval and residence has tested positive for coronavirus, now several other military valets are having to quarantine as a result of that. So it is something thats widespread inside the west wing and has continued to grow by the day. A lot of officials are learning about some of the cases in press reports, not from colleagues, not from Contact Tracing. Thats caused another round of concern that if someone tests positive, they may not be the first people to know about it, even though they have been working around that person. Yet, maggie, we know from reporting in New York Times matched by cnn that the white house said no when the cdc offered help with Contact Tracing around the Supreme Court event and others at the white house. We know from New York Times reporting the white house is trying to reject fda recommendations that would delay by a couple of weeks release of a vaccine, they want to be careful checking the science. We know the president is probably too sensitive to Media Coverage and watches television, was watching in the hospital, didnt like the way he was being portrayed that he was in the hospital. And clearly, you see the reaction of voters in the polls, they agree in the sense they live it every day in their lives, trying to get kids to school, working from home, challenges they face. Many people with covid or lost a loved one because of it, thats why the reaction is strange. Those are real things. Those are real messages of suffering that are still happening. If you listen to the fed chairman, are likely going to happen the next several months if things dont change rapidly. Thats a message you dont hear from the president when he comes back to the white house and removes his mask and tapes this video. He doesnt talk about americans that died from coronavirus but doesnt talk about americans suffering from it. That means more new Coronavirus Infections now compared to a week ago. 23 states are trending up in terms of new infections. Only four states have fewer infections compared to a week ago. Not an optimistic map at the moment. 23 states heading up. If you look at the trend line, we are averaging more than 40,000 new infections a day in the United States, more than 40,000 new infections. In recent days trending up from that. Need to watch the numbers going through the rest of the work week. Remember, it was about 18,000 new infections before the summer surge that got us up above 60, some days above 70,000 cases. Now a baseline of 40,000 heading into the colder months. If you look at the death trend, i dont want to call this optimistic, all of the numbers are horrible, but numbers are down. 460 deaths monday. There are some down days, most projections say with rising case count this will follow up eventually. Hope thats not the case, thats what just about every projection tells you, it will go up. One reason to worry, six states had record hospitalizations yesterday. Notice where they are. Wisconsin, dakotas, nebraska, wyoming, montana, all in the northern half of the country. It is getting colder. States, many of them dont have giant populations, were seeing the case count go up in these states. You look at a map like this, record hospitalizations, a case trend above 40,000 new infections a day, dr. Anthony fauci looks down on the calendar, says things are getting bad now, is worried by thanksgiving they could be even worse. Some people in this country are going to be able to have a relatively normal type thanksgiving, but in other areas of the country its going to be you better hold off, maybe have just immediate family, do it in a way people wear masks and you dont have large crowds of people.
