>> thank you mr. speaker. after the missile strike in poland yesterday, we reaffirm our solidarity to poland we express our condolences with the victims and are working with our allies and -- will be making a statement shortly. >> could i begin by asserting myself, comments for the deputy prime minister, i am sure the whole house will want to reaffirm our support for ukraine and for poland against russian aggression. in his first day the prime minister promised integrity, professionalism and accountability. i assume the deputy prime minister agrees with that promise and we expect all ministers to follow such principles. therefore, does the prime minister also agree that aligned with this promise the prime minister should ensure that no minister who has a complaint of bullying -- held against them, should continue to serve in this government? >> thank you, thank you for the solidarity with poland. he is right to quote with the prime minister said and i think it is an article of personal faith that we behave with absolute integrity and accountability. i am confident that i have behaved professionally throughout but immediately i heard that two complaints had been made. immediately after prime minister -- an independent investigation and of course i will comply fully. >> many of my constituents -- traveled the world with an important message about an endeavor, [indiscernible] will my friend joined me in thanking the community for their ongoing -- >> thank you honorable friend. at this important time of year for the sikh community and seek faith, by joining with what she said they make an outstanding contribution in her constituency, with the mid land society and -- in her constituency, but they also make an amazing contribution to the whole country and we are grateful for it. >> angela rader. >> thank you mr. speaker. -- remarks regarding the sikh community and most importantly the incidents in poland last night. the whole house calls for the ukrainian people and sends condolences for the tragic loss of life in britain has an unshakable commitment to nato and our allies. the government would like -- speculation so i understand that the prime minister might not be able to observe today, but does he agree that last night events aside, the fact that russia is launching missile attacks from ukrainian civilian infrastructure while leaders meet, shows utter contempt that putin has for international order. >> i highly agree with what she said, president putin started this war and whatever the determination -- yesterday, whether indirectly or directly from the unlawful aggression perpetrated by the russian government and that's why the prime minister is now at the g20 rallying support, of energy dependence on russia and making sure we've got the energy supplies from other parts of the world and i agree with what she said 100%. >> thank you mr. speaker, it is right that we condemn putin but the g20 is also an opportunity to work together, to tackle the economic challenges we all face. given that international allies raise to crack down on -- two -- profits abroad. this government is dragging its feet to protect their profits, we have a budget mr. speaker, top choices will be impacted on families across britain. does he accept that every pound hidden in tax evasion is a pound lost for the pockets of working families? >> thank you, we want people in this country to create jobs and generate tax revenue whether it's non--- status which is stricter under -- whether it's the prime minister's approach to big tech companies where he has led the charge and making sure that international approach at delivering a global minimum tax -- we have lowered the tax gap, the difference between the tax code and tax rate, at the lowest level -- and will continue to do so. >> i know it's -- has not been abolished mr. speaker. the conservatives would have us all believe that the economic problems are out of their hands when the truth is it's working people paying the price for their choices. they have chosen to protect corporate profits and not household incomes. there are 38 countries in the oec where does the u.k. rank in that table? >> the latest data on unemployment remains at a 50 year low, the chancellor is saying it's half the level left by the last -- when it comes to gdp she will know that the imf -- [indiscernible] >> mr. speaker i think the economic situation speaks for itself but i have a question for the deputy prime minister, the answer is 38 out of 38. if there was a world cup we would not even qualify, the working people are paying the price for 12 years of a tory failure. the wrong choices by the wrong people. today they are dodging and in denial, this morning the deputy prime minister finally acknowledged formal complaints about his misconduct. -- no apologies, this is anti-bullying. this is anti-bullying we, will he apologize? >> in terms of the challenges which are global,, caused by covid in the war in ukraine, we have a plan to grip inflation and strive for economic growth, employment will go up, and we will repay the price. about the complaints -- i immediately asked the prime minister set up an independent inquiry into this, i have acted professionally throughout but i will comply thoroughly. i look forward to transparently addressing any complaints that have been made. >> mr. speaker let me get this straight. you have demanded an investigation into himself because the prime minister is too weak to get a grip. the prime minister and office -- with a disgraced cabinet minister -- breach the ministerial code and risk national security, and now the prime minister and defense secretaries behavior has been described as racist, controlling and demeaning. -- mr. speaker, who can't even enter his office, and that is without mention -- the deputy prime minister knows his behavior was unacceptable. so what is he still doing here? >> thank you honorable lady for what she said about poland but also about the importance of our solidarity in the national community against the appalling invasion by russia of ukraine. in terms of inflation, clearly that is a problem. for months it has been this prime minister's -- making clear the number one economic challenge we face, we have got a plan to grip inflation, to dry economic growth -- will be making a statement tomorrow which will set out our plan to take the scottish people and the entire united kingdom through these challenges. >> thank you mr. speaker. if you can't even say sorry for the mess that they've made what hope do we have of them fixing it. let's be clear, tomorrow's budget is imposing austerity 2.0 on all of our constituents. that is the political choice that the tories are making. where are the better and different choices, -- to 25 pounds a week. that's 81 hundred 50% increase in eight months and it will help 400,000 children. so if the tories want to say sorry for the mess they have made, can they at least make the right choice -- will this government join the fight against child poverty tomorrow? follow the lead -- [indiscernible] >> the honorable lady will know that we are facing challenges that are faced all around the world because of covid, because of the war in ukraine. we have seen rising inflation in germany, in the euro zone in the u.s.. the reality is this prime minister and chancellor have a plan, we are going to have more details about the austerity, but of course the u.k. government continues to work with the scottish government collaboratively to safeguard and prevent -- protect -- right across the united kingdom. i think that's what people expect. >> my constituency is in a state of disrepair, the community is hugely worried about their future it is not just for my constituents but the whole country -- if appropriate redevelopment is not agreed to the site risks losing its world heritage site, -- concerned that the government will play close attention to ensure that we do not lose our world heritage status and will you come to visit the mill and discuss potential solutions with local people? >> can i think my honorable friend for her campaign on this and yes of course we will continue to monitor the condition of the mill, i think the best i can say is we strongly encourage all the local bodies whether it's the council -- to continue to work together because our hope is we want to continue to celebrate the proud and rich tradition represented -- >> the prime minister will welcome me -- the comments by the foreign secretary to the european scrutiny committee. -- within the union will be the priority of the government in the negotiations with the european union on the north land protocol. one of the benefits of that union is the support that the government of the united kingdom is providing to high schools and businesses across the entire country to tackle the cost of living prices. will the deputy prime minister assure me that the 400 -- energy support payment that is due to be made in northern ireland will be announced as soon as possible? >> i think the honorable gentlemen, what he said about securing north ireland within the constitutional economic -- absolutely vital. has been very clear on that as well as the secretary, the chance to see more on the economic measures he referred to. even if an illegal migrant is stopped, no one is ever arrested he will simply come back the next day. will the deputy prime minister ensure that we remove all factors for illegal migration? by using this new bill of rights to ensure that we have the legal power to arrest and deport and attain illegal migrants? and for instance have a review of a national identity card so people don't just vanish and they never get deported. >> my honorable friend i think we agree that we need to take every measure to stop this appalling -- i think the agreement the high secretary made will help with getting u.k. officials -- but at the time he's right that the bill of rights can help as well. in preventing interim borders -- being recognized in u.k. courts and as far as id cards, we already have these for people coming to visit -- someone else's immigration status. the one thing that's clear, we have to do all of these things [indiscernible] >> we face particular difficulties -- and we have to pay for additional advice, he has to hire the village [indiscernible] what with the deputy prime minister advise for our children? >> can i say to the honorable lady that they are sympathetic to the challenges that all of our schools face and what could be said about the specific measures tomorrow, so she should stand assured that -- gdp and g7 on primary -- education and expanded to people and parents most, up to 68% from 2010 to 80% today. >> deputy prime minister we are where the opportunity but also the challenges facing the hospitality sector including -- including increased energy costs and the impact on business. -- on further measures to support it? >> he's a fantastic champion -- the chancellor will make the statement tomorrow my top secretary -- the recovery plan which will help recover from the pandemic but also the whiting ending up of the agenda. >> in my constituency they are completely out of control, since the government broke the economy and broke the mortgage market, the cost of owning a home is quickly receding. the cost of living tory tax rising through the roof and an extra one million people in the private rented sector in 2010, will the government get a grip and tackle housing in my constituency and across the country? >> as a forming housing minister and know how important these issues are and i can also tell the honorable lady that the housing secretary is looking at the situation very carefully -- going forward shortly. >> mr. speaker my constituency -- the following a few weeks ago, i am not ashamed of my facility but i am ashamed of people judging me without knowledge or understanding, -- communication needs -- more needs to be done to raise awareness. will you sign -- a meeting with the prime minister to raise awareness -- [indiscernible] >> i think my honorable friend, for his highlighting of the campaigning all children and young people should receive the support they need to make progress, we published a green paper in march covering the whole interview and will certainly make sure to get the meeting with the relevant -- >> can the deputy prime minister tell us if he is ever entered into a nondisclosure agreement connected to a complaint? >> he's referring to an employment dispute that was settled before he entered the house it was it not an nda but it did involve -- which was standard at the time. >> thank you mr. speaker, all our constituents want to see an end to the dangerous and illegal crossings of the channel. one of the best ways to do that is to make sure that services are delivered in the first safe place that refugees need it. in that context the deputy prime minister, the former fort -- secretary in the -- minister, would he commit to backing the work of education cannot wait. which delivers education in those refugee camps. >> i think my honorable friend, she is right, the brilliant work they do she knows how important the campaign for girls education -- also the last prime minister but this prime minister, we will look at what more we can do to support this work in particularly for children going up and camps like that. >> thank you mr. speaker, -- which i congratulate him on. the new direction of tomorrow, signals a ban on no school evictions from the last manifesto, -- zilch from the last -- if so can he buy a residency -- get it on the book so that no family on a whim gets left out in the cold this winter? >> i know my honorable friend has looked at all these manners -- i will ask him to write to you to address this. >> mr. speaker i wonder if my honorable friend has noticed that the people who are currently criticizing him have a record of bullying second to none, a labour member of parliament because of anti-semitic bullying. but the bbc journalist needed bodyguards, and a current member of the labour party was suspended for the service of this house for bullying. does he think as i do that at this very least this is hypercritical and may be a stronger word but not necessarily -- [indiscernible] >> my honorable friend makes a point in his way, i will say it is important that we all take responsibility for our actions and that's all i have to say today. >> thank you mr. speaker -- [indiscernible] from exposed veterans, however i think it's made aware that many veterans and their families are unable to obtain these test results and denied the ability to make any sense what they and their family have suffered. can we investigate and inform of the legal rights of these men in obtaining their medical records -- ask the prime minister to order that these medical files be open to veterans at the u.k. health security agency immediately. >> thank you, she's been a consistent championship on this issue and i pay tribute for that. my understanding is that the information is available to veterans and their families if they request details, but if she would like to write to me i will make sure on the more specific point that she has an answer. >> [indiscernible] but merely to amplify -- the right of the honorable lady -- the brave servicemen who did so much so long ago to ensure our safety, the nuclear attack veterans are recognized by prime minister, in their meeting by the former prime minister and member of -- will this deputy prime minister hand down -- and our new prime minister recognize them to -- by getting them a service medal they so richly deserve and that we owe them?
