day for the president's legislative agenda and this comes down to a split in the president's own party, democrats being divided on two spending packages, one tied to the bipartisan infrastructure deal, the other to expand government healthcare and social programs. overnight we heard from west virginia democratic senator joe manzo which and who issued a statement on where he stands. he says the far left's goal to spend $3 trillion could sink the economy. manzo which and rights, quote, what i have made clear is spending trillions more on new and expanding government programs when we can't even pay for essential social programs like social security and medicare is the definition of fiscal insanity. republicans remain firmly against this package which includes a laundry list of democratic priority items including beefing of enforcement of the iris and addressing climate change. it appears efforts to reform immigration will be kept out of the bill but this morning manzo which and's objections create more headaches for nancy pelosi who plan to hold a vote on infrastructure but progressive democrats are threatening to vote no on the package if the house does not first prove the lunch -- much larger spending.
