After public pressure the police chief in charlotte released videos that show officers fatally shooting a black man, keith scott. Cbs reporter Kenneth Craig shows us the tense seconds that led up to scotts death. Reporter dashcam Video Shows Police officers surrounding a car yelling drop the gun. You also hear a woman saying he doesnt have a gun. Scott eventually gets out of an suv, as he backs away. You continue to hear someone yell drop the gun and then shots are fired. From another angle body camera video shows an officer pointing a gun at scott while the 43 yearold stands outside his car. Police chief kerr putney says scott had a gun in his hand but that cannot be seen on the video. The Department Also released a photograph of the gun found at the scene and said test revealed scotts dna and fingerprints on the weapon. The police chief said officers were at the scene to arrest someone else but got involved with scott after they noticed him with marijuana and a gun. What we are releasing are the objectives the objective facts. Dont shoot him he has no weapon. Reporter scotts wife insists her husband did not have a gun. Family members said they were pleased the footage was finally released but they arent satisfied. We are left with far more questions than we have answers. How its possible that this incident resulted in the loss of life. Hundreds of protesters peacefully demonstrated for a fifth day saturday. A citywide curfew remains in effect. Kenneth craig, cbs news charlotte. The shooting in North Carolina is also sparking demonstrations here in the bay area. Tonight protesters from occupy oakland and black lives matter marched through the city. Kpix 5 news keuchel garron was there with their message of solidarity. Reporter the protests were for the most part peaceful, they did make multiple attempts to get onto a freeway entrance. But oakland Police Officers and chp were standing by to make sure freeway entrances were blocked. The group composed of occupy oakland and black lives matter gathered at 17th and broadway before marching toward city hall when some protesters tried to walk toward the freeway entrance but were blocked. Protesters did march back to their starting point then if you broke off and tried to run down 15th street. But again oakland Police Officers were staged nearly at every corner directing drivers to turn around as they anticipated where the crowds were heading. From what we saw on the ground there are close to 200 protesters and dozens if not 100 oakland Police Officers keeping watch. In oakland, cate cauguiran, kpix 5 news. Police have arrested the suspect in a deadly mall shooting identifying him as 20 yearold arcan cetin. A sheriffs lieutenant spotted him in oak harbor about 30 miles from where the shooting happened. The suspect was unarmed and had a quote zombielike demeanor. Last night shooting killed five people, at a mall north of seattle. Surveillance video shows a man entering a mall on and and then going into a macys 10 minutes later with a rifle. Witnesses say he opened fire at the makeup counter, a 16year old girl was among the people killed. A tense standoff between an armed man and San Francisco police prompted evacuations at civic center plaza. Officers negotiated with the suspect for hours. Through a freedom of information act request we obtained a list of companies that provided students paid internships over the last five years. Turns out most of them are placement agencies like data soft systems, close to 400 students took internships with the company. Its so unethical.
