Cleared. Reporter this offramp here was close for about six hours this morning. And the two people in the car that crashed still have not been identified. This fiery crash marks the end of a highspeed chase that started at around 3 30 a. M. In oakland. Officers ran the plates, found out it was stolen in San Francisco, and the chase was on. Inside the stolen vehicles you never know youre going to find. Most of the time theres other things going on. Reporter officers first spotted the car on 880 near 7th street and the chase went over the bay bridge hitting speeds over 100 Miles Per Hour. But it all ended when the bmw took the 5th street offramp in the city. For an unknown reason they hit that lefthand side wall. And the vehicle caught on fire and both occupants died in the vehicle when we arrived. Reporter the driver was ejected, the passenger burned inside the car. The investigation. What the two may have been up to is just the investigation into what the two may have been up to is just beginning. Now, the chp hauled that burned car to the lot here in San Francisco to search it for evidence. And the coroner in the meantime is working to identify the two people who died. The announcement puts pressure on apple to come up with the much rumored iwatch. Google was occupied ahead of the development conference. Kiet do reports from Mountain View about occupy protestors being arrested overnight outside going headquarters. Reporter and its occupy Google Movement lasted all of just about 10 hours. Mountain view police swooped in and arrested these guys around midnight. Photos posted to their twitter page shows a large number of officers gathering at the scene. Occupiers say they were getting warnings to leave the campus by 11 40 p. M. They describe the officers as aggressive and unreasonable. It looks like about half of the 20 occupiers were then taken into custody. The whole thing started yesterday afternoon as a way to pressure google to do more about net neutrality. Its where the second is considering creating a two sec is considering creating a two tier system with a fast lane and slow lane. The occupy protest was timed to coincide with a google Developers Conference. Early on in the protest google said they could stay since they werent disrupting business and police had said they didnt plan to make any arrests. That changed overnight. In a report released yesterday, the auditor is recommending changing state law to force universities now to undergo training. Chico and San Diego State were also part of the audit. Ucberkeley is also under federal investigation right now for its handling of rape cases. More than a dozen people in oakland are without a place to live this afternoon after a fire destroyed several apartments. Flames broke out at an apartment complex near 39th and international boulevard. Fire destroyed two apartments, damaged two others. 17 people got out safely. The cause is under investigation. No suspects in the shooting death of an oakland woman killed on Douglas Avenue in east oakland last night. Officers were out collecting evidence and talking to witnesses for others. So far no arrests and no suspects. New at noon, San Francisco taxi drivers rounded up their troops and headed in a caravan to sacramento to protest a bill at the capital that would require Rideshare Companies to expand Insurance Coverage for drivers. Taxi drivers say Companies Like uber and lyft should be regulated. It sends a message that we shouldnt have to be regulated and accountable in order to pick people up and transport them. Taxi drivers say the legislation allows Insurance Companies to cash in on the unfair competition. Meanwhile, in sacramento, the parents of 6yearold sophia liu are asking lawmakers to pass the bill. Liu died on new years eve when she was hit by an uber driver in San Francisco. That drive did not have commercial insurance that driver didnt have commercial insurance. A debate in atlanta over a tragic accident. A young father says he returned to his car after work and discovered he left his toddler in the car seat in the heat. The child died but police say the dad returned to the car and opened the car door several hours before he claimed he found his son. Necessary jail charged with murder. Controversy in antioch this morning over a 15yearold who was shot. The gunman was found not guilty on the stand your ground defense. But the temperatures will be down a few degrees. Even today, the numbers will be down somewhat, maybe about 75 in milpitas, 71 and breezy into union city, 60s near the coastline, east bay temperatures running up into the 70s, a few 80s well inland. The Los Angeles City Attorneys Office says the company was charging some customers too many at the hot bar and salad bar. Whole foods failed to subtract the weight of the container and selling deli items by the piece than the pound. Some shoppers are reluctant to trust the chain. Hearing this it kind of considers, well, maybe, you have to look at your options for, uhm, for shopping. Whole foods blames the problems on its employees calling it a human error. The company has to pay an 800,000 fine for overcharging. George lucas says the bay area will always be his home, but he is taking his museum of art and move the memorabilia to chicago. But the Presidio Trust rejected all the proposals for a site near crissy field so lucas opted for a chicago site for his extensive collection.
