addition to bowling they will have food, a drug show, and tarot card readings. the five people killed in a shooting at club q in colorado have been identified tonight. two of them worked at the club. 19 other people got hurt. authorities are calling this a hate crime. police are given credit to an army veteran, richard fierro , who they say took down the gunmen and saved people's lives. tonight, he told his story to cnn. >> my daughter and wife should never have experienced combat in colorado springs . everybody in that building experienced combat that night, not to their own accord, but because they were forced to. i feel no sorrow for that dude. >> one of the people who was killed was richard fierro's daughter's boyfriend. the suspect is still in the hospital, being held without bail. back to breaking news we mentioned at the top of our broadcast, devin fehely has just gotten to the scene of the stanford shopping center where someone fired into a restaurant. devin, what is going on down there? >> reporter: right now, as you can see behind me, this is the flemings restaurant, it is a steakhouse on the front side of the stanford shopping center. earlier this evening, probably 90 minutes ago or so, there was at least one, possibly two shots fired into that restaurant. according to the palo alto police department, those gunshots were apparently fired from a moving vehicle on el camino riel. police say they have searched the area along el camino riel, one or two shots were fired, the mall has not been shut down. police did say they have gone to the mall, there is no evidence that the gunmen is inside the mall at this time, or that there is any ongoing threat or danger to other customers and shoppers out here tonight. according to witnesses, the gunmen and possibly get away forever getaway driver fled northbound in a black chevy car, just a vague description of the vehicle. we don't know if anyone specifically inside this restaurant, we do know from this shooting from across the parking lot, you can look and see a bullet hole, and some shattered or damaged glass to the front of that restaurant. a number of police officers are still here on the scene, near el camino riel, and along the shopping center, they are talking to witnesses and trying to figure out exactly what happened this evening. most importantly, who is responsible for it? that is the information we have here at the shopping center, i am devin fehely. i will send it back to you. >> i can only imagine how chaotic and confusing that must have been for the people meeting and said, just a wild story. keep us posted, thank you so much. less than an hour from now, the alameda county registrar's office will release new results which should clarify the oakland mayor's race. like. and this is my company she mike the gnu c , doing what he loves. >> up until the pandemic, he was a touring musician. now, his low-key set up on palo alto avenue is his main stage, where you will find him monday and thursday nights but he does not take a second for granted. >> this is a big difference in my life and career. >> reporter: when cove it struck me he lost 60 gigs overnight. he wondered if you would have to give up his passion. >> i was scared, because this is all i know. >> reporter: it almost happened. but, his passion led him to purpose and mike and kathy longo who owns restaurants along california avenue. they needed help. >> the musician himself, they thought music would help their business. well, about two years later, it turns out he was right. >> the numbers on monday night are very close to friday night. >> he says this year, business is doing around 40% better than they did in 2019. >> no doubt that the music picks business up. >> you will now find live music on monday, thursdays and friday nights on california avenue, giving much needed life to the avenue. >> at night, with the light, you can see what has been my dream for many years, replicating what happens in europe. >> ben deci has a scaled down from loading up for big games, to setting up his own little makeshift stage. but, the change of venue allowed him to find his rhythm. >> it is really special. >> he has also found new purpose, contributing to the community. >> wendy businesses tell me that they appreciate it, or that it is helping the businesses grow , it is also helping the sanford is ready. >> people are in line, ready to go. >> he is known here as first in line fletcher, as he always is. >> first in line. >> reporter: but, he was not here at 5:30 himself. with that, the operation begins. >> remember, we do one for the ladies. >> they load us up. >> fletcher has not just volunteered over the years, he has become an extension of second harvest of silicon valley. finding new ways to get food into the community, to those who otherwise might not be able to reach fit. >> eggs? ready to go? >> it's good, too, because then the network networks , because people can say if you get food i can take it to other people who need food. >> jose, let's rock 'n roll. >> i got groceries. >> reporter: this delivery is for an apartment complex in san mateo. while fletcher is making this all happen, he is not the actual manpower . what he is really doing is connecting people. >> yeah, see, they got all of it. yeah. say? i don't have to do nothing, see? it's all teamwork. >> helps a lot. especially right now, this helps a lot. >> than the fact that we are concerned about right now is that a lot of people feel like we are getting behind the pandemic and as you can see here, the need has not changed in our communities. 70 families are struggling. >> reporter: for second harvest, economic factors are driving yet another surge in demand. >> now, what we see is just how hard it is for people to come back out of that financial devastation of the pandemic. when you see inflation like this, 70 people are working and still really struggling to make ends meet. >> i just lost my wife, in august, which brought me down to only my social security. , i am so grateful to find this place. >> reporter: meeting that need depends on volunteers. and people like fletcher temperature will be -- then, hopefully we get into an unsettled pattern as we go through november the sixth, a good chance of wetter than normal conditions, not just for the bay area, not a strong little down the line, decent chance into december, doesn't look like the first main chance will have our way until sunday night through monday. thanks giving weekend without the interference of mundt mother nature. please guys right now, temperatures already into the upper 40s and concord, oakland, livermore. 57 degrees for downtown san francisco. the warm spot on the map this monday evening. later on tonight, temperatures dropped into the 40s around the bay, and upper 30s for inland parts of the bay area. a little chilly out there to begin the day on tuesday. temperatures should warm up nicely , a couple of degrees warmer than today, into the neighborhood of 60 degrees by lunchtime for most of us with temperatures topping out in the upper 60s to even around 70 degrees for inland parts of the bay area. mid-60s around the bay, around 60 degrees along the coast. most of these numbers running 2 to 3 degrees above average for the middle of november . we are going to see more of a warming trend by wednesday and thursday. if you are headed out for turkey trots happening around the bay area, ours starts at 8:30 wednesday morning, you can burn off the calories before you put them back on. my wife and i will be doing the tri-valley turkey bird in pleasanton. temperatures just a couple of degrees warmer because that race starts at 9:00 in the morning. should be clear and cool, but not flat-out chilly for those three things giving festivities. we will be seeing temperatures warming up rapidly in the hour by hour forecast for things giving day. inland temperatures warming up to around 70, hitting the mid-60s around the bay and low 60s ride along the coast. that is the warmest day of the seven day forecast. restart backing down into saturday and sunday, especially a gradual increase in cloud cover as we head through the weekend, but it does look like we will get through things giving weekend without rain chances to affect post-thanksgiving travel, rain moving intentionally sunday night into early monday, it is not a guarantee that we are going to see rain sunday night into monday but is it is the best chance we have seen around here for a while but we definitely need the rain. by the time that rain arrives it will have been three weeks since we sought measurable rainfall in the area. running on thanks giving, i will be cheering you on from the
