The 18yearold mothershed is charged with two counts of attempted murder after, police say, he shot officer ryan moritz during an incident at the valley Park Apartments on february 7th. Mothershed is also charged with five counts of firstdegree robbery in incidents dating back to december 7th, 2015. Activist and cattle Rancher Cliven Bundy is scheduled to appear in court today. Bundy will answer to the charges brought against him from an armed confrontation in 2014 that forced federal officials to release cattle being rounded up near his ranch in nevada. Bundy is the first to face charges in what some advocates hailed as a victory in the fight to turn over federal land to state control. Ammon bundy staged an armed sit in on federal land in oregon for the same issue. Ammons bundys occupation of the Malheur National wildlife refuge lasted for more than a month. A hearing on the sinking of the el faro will take place today. The United States coast guard is conducting the hearing in jacksonville, florida. This is the first of two sessions the coast guard will conduct. They are expected to focus on the events that led up to the sinking of the ship such as biographies on crew members and previous voyages the el faro made as well as the coast guards search and rescue efforts. Its a project thats been in the works for about a year, and is a few months from completion. City manager Terry Crawford has pushed for the renovations. Su one of the appeals of the project is that it keeps the Historical Preservation of the original building, crawford says. I could show you the cupolas that have been installed already on the exterior, the south one here next to what we hope to have a bell tower in the future, said crawford. Its not a part of this contract. But, the exterior of city hall isnt the only part that will look different. Before the project, the top floor of the building was only used for storage. The top floor has been transformed to include the city council chambers, an employe lounge, and a small room for storage. A new elevator also takes people from the basement to the top of the building, offering easier access.
