The pattern has changed from hot and humid and warm and humid to tropical clouds, system to the north, a pretty big low has decided to pay a visit. Thats allowed our temperatures to catch up with most of the other parts of the United States which are also enjoying cooler weather. The tropical clouds will stay out of the picture. 50s, 60s. Very close. Coast, bay, inland, north bay, peninsula, south. Everyone is close on the temperatures. We have more of a westerly breeze. Ocean temperatures, 50s to 60s. Theyve kind of settled in there. Not too kiel, not too warm. This weak system is falling apart. But that has lifted the low cloud deck. Mostly sunny after the low clouds burn off. Cool inland temperatures. 70s for some. 60s, 70s, coast and bay. Heres sal. Were looking at p toll plaza because getting in from the east bay to San Francisco because its crowded. Although im noticing today, its better than it was yesterday. You can see on the left there for the 880 ramp. Its not quite as crowded. There are a couple of breaks here at the toll plaza. Well take it. 20minute delay, 20minute drive time getting into San Francisco. Also speaking of San Francisco, northbound 101, that looks good approaching the 80 split. You know the giants play again tonight. They are hosting the white sox and thats a nighttime game so you might want to plain for people coming into the city to catch the game tonight. Also, the commute on the Livermore Valley area, westbound 580 is pretty slow. With more details coming about the death of Robin Williams, most fans are choosing to continue to celebrate his life, but we are learning a couple people are using his suicide to allegedly harass his only daughter Zelda Williams. Tara moriarty has more on the decision to remove herself from social media. Reporter thats right. Robin williamss daughter has removed herself from twitter and instagram because two people were harassing her about her fathers death, taunting her with fake autopsy pictures, as unbelievable as it sounds. On a positive note, zelda has received thousands of messages of support including here at the famous mrs. Doubtfire house where people have been writing in chalk on the sidewalk, lighting their favorite lines from movies that Robin Williams appeared in and theyve been doing this same thing at the Goodwill Hunting bench in boston, the mork and mindy house in colorado and on his hollywood star. Meanwhile, details came to light yesterday. The Sheriffs Office announced that Robin Williams died after hanging himself with a belt. Officials say he was already dead when his personal assistant found him monday morning. Theres still no word on a public memorial service, but San Francisco mayor ed lee told cute he would like to do something ktvu he would like to do something but he will wait for the family to decide. Im giving it time for the family tell us what they would like. Were in contact with family members to let us know how they feel. I think the first few days is about letting it settle. Reporter the Sheriffs Department said its waiting for the results of a toxicology report. It plans to have a final press release in a couple of weeks. Yesterday, williamss san zach acknowledged his fathers son suicide, saying, i lost my father and a best friend and the world got grayer. I would ask those who loved him to remember him by being as gentle, kind and generous as he would be. Already donations have increased and the williamss family is asking instead of flowers that you give money one of Robin Williamss Favorite Charities which is the Christopher Reeve foundation as well as glide memorial church. Back to you. Robin williams was a long time San Francisco giants fan. So the team honored him before last nights game. We lost one of our greatest fans yesterday and he will be deeply missed by all of us. Pictures of williams were up on the scoreboard as fans and players stood to observe a moment of silence. Giants players and manager bruce bochy say they have fond memories of him. Robin williams was asked a lot of questions by interviewers. On youtube, this clip shows how he responded to a question about going to heaven. He was asked by the host and robin used humor in his response to that serious question. On monday, park rangers posted a sign alerting beachgoers they have 30 days to take down their keepsakeses. More than 1100 people have signed an online petition to keep those mementos up. Political ethics experts are questioning some of the actions of the campaign to re elect jean quan. The chronicle reports that quans campaign emailed City Employees on their city email accounts about upcoming political events and lismging them to a cam linking them to a Campaign City website. Quans spokesman said the e mail was only sent to people who signed up for a Campaign Press distribution list. But the paper reports nine City Employees received an email but said they had not signed up. City guidelines forbid the use of this. Well, the big day is here today for thousands of Bay Area School kids. For them, summer is over. Its back to school day. Were here at san jose high. This is the second Oldest Public High School in california. As you can see, once these cars get out of the way, there are students here already waiting to get inside to start their classes in the next hour, we should see traffic pick up. Classes begin at 8 00 a. M. This is video in the last 20 minutes of school buses arriving, a fresh new school year awaits they. Teachers have been preparing their curriculum for the last few weeks. There are more than 40 schools in san jose unified. The largest district in san jose. The district is entering the third year of its plan which is aimed at closing the opportunity gap between students at schools. The focus is on ensuring students are being taught 21st century skills. This includes giving students access to highlevel courses and handson exposure to outside business partners. Now, other School Districts in the bay area are also welcoming students today. They are antioch, napa valley, fairfield, suisun city and south San Francisco and next week, there are more School Districts starting in the bay area and many private schools begin as well. The district is now offering extended day kindergarten thanks to an agreement with its teachers union. Schools will offer an extra hour of classroom instruction as well as two hours of extra teaching support each day. They hope that will attract parents and increase student enrollment. They fled their homes when their towns were taken over by isis militants who threatened to kill them if they did not convert to islam. Many are walking for days seeking safety. The u. S. Vo involvement in iraq is deepening. 130 troops have arrived in iraq to help to figure out how to get the refugees to safety. Kyla campbell is live in washington, d. C. To explain what these troops are expected to do. Reporter the pentagon says those military advisers will get a lay of theland and come up with options for the defense secretary and president to check out. This is not a combat boots on the ground operation. Were not gonna have that kind of operation. But short of that, there are things we can continue to do. Reporter its estimated as many as 35,000 ethnic and religious authorities are still on the mountain. The refugees fled there to avoid getting slaughtered by isis. The Pentagon Press secretary said this morning theres no rescue operation in the works right now they are focused on air dropping supplies. The u. S. , u. K. , australia and france have dropped tens of thousands of meals and gallons of water and supplies on the mountain. There is a huge challenge with getting longterm sustainable assistance to the people trapped on the mountain and the others affected by the crisis. The tombstones there date back to the 1850s from the battles between american settlers and the nativeamericans but because the graves are on a sandy hillside, they often slide. They have to be realigned every year. Now a permanent solution has been found. It involves removing the headstone, setting it on the foot end of the grave site. Digging a trench and pouring in a concrete box and then replacing that the headstone. Now, engineers mark the headstone locations using gps and then they use lasers to line up the roads. All of the head stones are being power washed. That work should be completed by 2016. 7 18. Its official, the Los Angeles Clippers have a new owner.
